Use pliers and twist off that tall ring. It'll make crunchy noises but it comes off. Then you assemble as instructed.

Oh really?! Hah okay glad that’s the case. I’ll try it. Thank you!

What's with the routine maintenance of oilings and checking of springs etc I've read when looking at reviews?

I lube it with mobil 1. Haven't even thought about maintenance. Had the one one my Fusion for over 15k miles and never thought about it.

Had one of these on a Tuned VW GTI as well as my BMW M2 (which I just sold to buy a Ranger) - Will be getting one of these for sure. There are other BOV's around but I dont like the swish sound others make and the throttle response from the turbo will be much better.

I lubed mine with shock tube anti-stiction spray. Stuff is amazing for this kinda situation.

I was going to ask you guys if you noticed any difference in the throttle response, then decided it would be just as easy to go install it and see for myself. I should have provided additional pics but I ran into the same “now what” moment before pulling that big circular plastic collar away from the inner housing; it popped out with one swift jerk using a pair of need nose pliers (and a red rag to protect the piece I was pulling). It installed easily although I think I used too much thread locker on the allen screws, which I’l pay the price for if I take it back off later. I used the LA Co Turbine Oil (aka Zoom Spout Oil), a very light oil that doesn’t gum up in cold weather and doesn’t leave a residue.

My observations so far driving around town are that you notice it, sometimes. If you were in boost a few moments prior and roll on the throttle it noticeably eliminates the boost delay. From a dead-stop, no difference because there was any residual boost left over. I’ll have to see what difference it makes at highway speeds.

I expect it to make a more noticeable difference when I get my 5-star tune loaded up. Installing the N-gauge tomorrow, pulling the stock map and sending it to 5-star.

If it somehow can cause something to fail just like any other part you install.

Does this impact the Ford warranty?

I would not see this impacting warranty unless something with the turbo failed and they tried to blame it but i highly doubt it. Many people use these on the mustang etc and have never seen a warranty denied post because of this said part.

Thank you

Ok, thanks! Is that link and discount still good?

I also have a 2008 Mustang GT that I installed a supercharger and a bunch of other stuff and a custom tune. I didn't know about these GFB DV+ options. I currently do not notice any delay in the boost so I'm curious if this would also be good for my Mustang. I might need 2, so big discount. ::)
