So long story short, got into a discussion with coworkers on vehicle maintenance and nobody believed my ranger still had the stock pads and rotors. I’m at 123k on mine and every time Les Schwab checks them they say good to go.
Anyone else still riding with the stock pads/rotors?

You must be very gentle on your Ranger...I'm at 128K and also still have good pads and rotors...I have a full new set that I'll install sometime this fall when the weather cools down...

It is my experience that OEM Ford pads last a long time. It was true on my Focus and is proving true on the Ranger.

i'm at 71k and rears are at 3mm, and fronts are at 6mm. i think the thickness at stock is 12mm.

so i'm probably going to replace pads and rotors in the next month or so. i could skip the rotors since there's no shake on braking, but i just don't like the idea of new pads and old rotors.

Eh I am slowly becoming gentler as the miles go up. I was taught by my grandfather that if you ever touch the brake on the highway, you’re driving wrong. But I’m glad to hear others have made the stocks last as well. Fueled up for the next debate now

I am sure driving habits also have a role in brake wear. I try not to have to use the brakes on curves and hills, relying a lot of gravity and momentum. My motto is using brakes wastes gas. If you are constantly hitting or tapping the brakes, you have to make up for it by giving it more throttle.

I am the original owner of my 2019 and I have about 34k on mine and alls well. On the other hand our police cars where lucky to get 40k to 50k out of a set of pads, if the driver was overly hard on them then rotors at the same mileage. For a while there the county was buying the cheapest pads out there. They would glaze up in a hurry and squeak to high heaven. We finally convinced them to stop using those pads when guys starred burning thru rotors and we also pointed out that it's hard to sneak up on a thief at night when they heard you coming a mile away lol.

Haha I give your county credit. Nothing like being in a pursuit and pushing on the brake to only hear grinding and no slowing. Our city basically bought soccer mom explorers and fitted the gear on them. Not even ballistic panels in the doors.

No panels in ours either. One night I had back to back emergency runs back and forth across the county , when I got out of my Caprice after arriving at the 2nd call my front rotors where glowing. I had an exhaust manifold bolt break off one night, they refused to fix it since it was due to be traded in 10 months later so I got the joy of listening to my derby cars exhaust for a few minutes after every cold start until it heated up and closed the gap up enough so it was only an annoying tick. Then one day I get a call from the garage saying they had my parts, seems one of the County Commissioners heard me start a few times and made a call lol

Last I remember before the "Ground Beef" incident I still had about 9mm in the front and 8mm in the rear with my truck around 50,000 miles.
