OK Gang, I purchased this gauge pod and have started the install. I used a utility knife to release the glued in vent. The vent seemed to be only glue in the corners. With a lot of patients I ran the point of the knife along the rear and the two sides, and that's where I found the lack of glue along the sides and rear. The edge to the front of the vent seemed to have a little more glue along that edge, but with patients it finally released. The complete vent came out in one piece and actually could be re-glued in. Next stop wait for the Banks gauge to continue the install. Another note to consider. the connectors on the Banks wiring will be able to run out of the pod and down from same as there is space around the duct that feed the vent. So far so good,.
Update. Gauge and gauge pod installed. Fished the Banks cables up thru dash to pod location. Had two as I also installed the Pedal Monster. This pod mount (listed for Lariat model) has a tab on the front end which will go under existing dash, I did not have any luck with sticky option to locate. My final solution was a very small screw in the center of rear of opening, and let the screw head capture the vent. came out great and screwhead is black.

So I'm strongly thinking about doing this for my Ranger with a Glowshift gauge for my on board air system. How did you route the harness around the vent channels?

It's open under the vent grill. Go figure

I've got the i-dash pro and the aeroforce housing, but haven't figured out how to secure the guage in the housing. Any ideas?

I don't see a retaining system.

EDIT: just found it and now I'm paying shipping that's twice the cost of the ring because there was no mention it might be needed on their website. Boo.

I removed the up fitter switch pod on my Tremor and replaced it with the non Tremor tray with this Autometer gauge pod. The gauges are GloShift.

I like that. Was it hard to install? Must have been challenging working under the dash. Did you tap into the OBDll for the feed to the gauges?

The gauge should be press fit into the pod. Is it too big or too small for the pod? If it is a little too small, wrap electrical tape around the barrel of the gauge until it press fits into the housing.

I fished a coat hanger up from under the dash into the tray area then taped all the wires to the coat hanger and pulled them back down under the dash.

Power for the gauges and lighting came from the fuse panel via an add-a-circuit.

The vacuum/boost gauge has a vacuum line tee'd into a vacuum line on the intake manifold.

The oil pressure gauge has a sensor that I used a sandwich adapter between the block and oil filter to get oil pressure.

The voltmeter reads the power from the same add-a-circuit that powers the gauges.

The oil pressure wiring and vacuum line is routed through the firewall via the rubber seal around the steering column.
