The real window sticker added up to $38,890 with legit factory options (Tow, Sport & FX4 Packages). By law they can't modify that so they added this sneaky supplemental sticker with $2,995 of pure markup.
I pity the fool that pays ADM.

It is kind of a standard practice in the bay area for some dealers to add a dealer markup to the price of new cars. When I bought my 2017 Escape one dealer had a markup on every Escape in their lot.

There is a dealer just outside of Toledo OH that has pinstripes applied to just about every vehicle they stock. Can't remember exactly how much they add to the sticker, but it is way more than it should cost. Almost pure profit for them.

I hate pinstripes. The wife hates pinstripes. They had an Escape there exactly when the wife wanted but they wouldn't budge from the fee. I was going to just peel them off. Went somewhere else and ordered what we wanted.

Mathews Ford maybe?? I test drove a black XLT there that was pinstriped. I'm going with an XL STX so I didn't look at the window sticker or price at all even to notice what they charged for it though.

In general, I feel like they aren't even TRYING to sell these trucks here around Toledo. I all but signed papers a month ago at Mathews and have made it clear to them and two other area dealers that I want a Ranger but I've had no contact at all from any of them. And I know they all have more Rangers on their lots now too. Last texts to two different sales guys are both me asking for them to search area stock for a truck close enough to what I want to try to not have to order and wait... No replies back at all.

My dealer took my 2019 Lincoln MKC in. leased it last November so I was a tad upside down behind the 8 ball. I gave them $30K cash and financed the balance as I was already paying Lincoln $400 a month. Now that will be applied to OWNERSHIP. My rate was 3.99% So depending on what the Lincoln was really worth, any discount I received was in the payoff of the Lincoln which the dealer assumed.

My trade was a sticking point as I only had the MKC for 4 months, CarMax offered me $26K for the Lincoln (payoff was $39K) Another dealer offered $30K tops...not good enough, Finally found a dealer who put me in the $40K Ranger for $45K They put $35K toward the Lincoln which was more than fair for a 4-month-old vehicle with terrible resale..LOL Whatever number they put on the Lincoln is the amount of discount I received from the dealer. I KNOW they "paid too much for the MKC" They had to discount the truck to make it all work. Very good dealership Felix Sabates Ford.

I looked into Swapalease. but I wasn't convinced I would get someone to take over a 32 month lease. If it took a few months to swap I would have paid in another $1200 and the vehicle would be that much less in value. $4500 was not a bad fee to get into the Ranger and out of the Lincoln. With 30K down I will never again be underwater, I hate being underwater, The Lincoln was my first Domestic in 15 years. Lesson learned.......

I was not familiar with Swappalease and didn't want to wait months and be in the same situation. Tear off the bandaid now. LOL.

My Ford dealer had to have discounted the truck to pay $35K for the Lincoln, All other dealers offered from $26K -$30K on the trade. The dealer has a $1500 mark up on the Lincoln. That tells me they over allowed discounting the Ranger to make up the difference.

I have to ask. You had 32 months left on a 36 month lease you just started last November. What changed between now and then that made you do what you did?
