I wished I went with an aftermarket coil over setup. I went with Bilstein 5100's an had to disassemble the factory struts to get the spring perches to transfer over. After reading about needing periodic rebuilding I'm OK with sticking with them.

As posted in the what did you do to your soda can on wheels today thread;

Well I'm not going going to bore you with the run around BS so yeah, the only place that would do it for me was the dealership in which I ordered the truck through.

I have not had the chance to really drive the truck yet, but when making turns I did feel less like I was driving on stilts(less body roll).

you should be able to "rent" (buy and return easily) the spring compressor. been a long time since i have done it but i did it once and as i recall it was fairly simple. just get the compressor on there good and you tighten slowly so it is not too scary. What screwed us up was at the time not knowing how to bleed brakes after needing to move the lines out of the way (doh, that should have been the easy part)
“ you should be able to "rent" (buy and return easily) ” REALLY ?????

So yeah, truck handles the junk roads around here better now. Still pretty rough driving around but the 4600's keep the tires planted so no bouncing around or losing control. My back don't take the brunt of the potholes like it usually does.

Worth the total cost of $1,100? Not really, but I don't regret the upgrades.

Th Bilsteins are just the start. Might be in your best interest to get different leafs. To my understanding the 4600's may not want much lift In the rear of any. Might be a good idea to go with Deavers. Yes they are pricy, but others on here like them

I keep 300lbs of sand in the back to help keep the rear happy, and to reduce the insane rake.
I don't think it would be a big deal if I were to swap the leafsrpings cause they would just have a load on em.

And before anyone suggests it; I don't intend to lift.

Yeah, basic Deavers would most likely do it for you. They do not lift and are an extreme multi leaf where each leaf is silly low spring rate causing a nice comfortable progressive spring rate vs the factory single leaf. Can remember Wich company right off but I know they will give you shorter bump stops with the leafs.

Well, I'll keep these in mind but I'm no rush to drop much more in suspension at this time. Out of my budget as it is hah.

yes really. where most auto parts stores used to actually rent tools, these days the process for "tool rental" is often that you "buy" them but the store knows you will return it in a few days. You can get pulley pullers, steering wheel removal tools, many kinds of small automotive tools that way. here's a link to O'reilly's version https://www.oreillyauto.com/store-services/rental-tools
