Clearance is the lowest part of the truck, not the lowest part of the frame.
Yup, just ask any boulder, they’ll give you the straight goods.

Like I said, it depends manufacturer to manufacturer.

It's just like the towing numbers game.
Whether the frame is below the diff may depend on manufacturer, but "clearance" is a defined term not subject to personal opinion. Clearance is the measurement from flat ground to the lowest point of the truck.

Part of the problem is Ford. They claim the Raptor has 0.8 inches more clearance, but go from 30.6" tires (or 30.5 on the 18 rim) to 31.6, which is at most 0.55 clearance increase.

Exactly where they gain the extra .25" is unclear to me, but unless they changed the diff housing the math doesn't add up.

That goes to my point. It's all games from the manufacturers.

EDIT: read that article and they actually specifically call out the Ranger Raptor.

Running Clearance vs Ground Clearance.

I was just clarifying the cross beam is not where you measure clearance unless it is the lowest point, which on our Rangers it is not.

In post #10 you said:

"I measure ground clearance based on the lowest part of the frame, which I think is the transfer case cross member? I wouldn't count the rear pumpkin in ground clearance"

I just saw this note on Camburg's website regarding the Fox 2.0 coilovers 0-3" lift.

"Tremor models will see 1-1.5″ of lift as they are already lifted from the factory"
