A friend of mine came by the other day to help with a project. Needed to run out to the hardware store to get some more stuff so he offered to drive since he was in the driveway. He has a 19 F250 Super Duty Crew cab 4x4 with a 6 1/2 ft bed. Getting in was like climbing a ladder. Talk about high tailgates. It sure does make you appreciate the size of our Rangers. I thought my old 92 F250 super cab 4x4 with an 8 ft bed was big. Was then not now. Glad to have my 19 Ranger.

The F250 is really huge and if you're not towing or hauling anything heavy it's impractical. I do miss my F150 at times but the Ranger is the perfect size and it's about the same size as my first '96 F150. Hopefully it doesn't get to much larger.

On a side note with that F250 tailgate you could knock yourself out without damper on one of those. ?

Yeah, I really do not want to upgrade to a larger truck than the Ranger but I think eventually we will need to. I just need to make more money so I can keep both lol. We tow a travel trailer but would not want to live with an F150/250 daily. Ranger fits everywhere and trails too.

A lot of contractors here seem to favour the f250 as well. It sure seems like overkill if they’re not towing or hauling huge loads.

I guess, if they’re leasing and dumping it back on the finance company after two years, the tax advantage of lease vs. buy/borrow along with the high residual value just might work in their favour.

Me, I love having my mid-size and for $50, I have large orders delivered - you just can’t drive there and back, then load and unload a big order for that money.

My brother tows a big fifth wheel with his f250 and loves it - he’s also a bit jelly of the fun I’m having with my Ranger.

In this area there are a lot of blinged heavy duty trucks of all 3 major brands.

When you see a heavy duty truck loaded and ready for work it's usually a Super Duty.

Though there are some exceptions, the heavy duty Rams and GMs are usually hauling a bed full of air.

My Ranger won't carry as much atmosphere as a 1 ton, but it carries enough..
