I love SiriusXM. It sucks that I have to play the cancel game with them once a year to get the discount price, but worth it IMO. Most radio plays commercial crap music, then fill the gaps with commercials.

Turn it to channel 40 (Liquid Metal) then break the dial off 'cause that's all you need!!! LOL
My tunes loaded onto USB flash drives fill all my needs without a need for a subscription. Plus I can select what plays when I want it to.

The random nature of radio is what I enjoy most about it. Lots of new music I have never heard before, or old favorites I don't own.

Daily driving Sirius is on and playing when I get in, no connectivity or having to load a selection. Longer drives I'll more frequently go to my phone for full albums or favorite play lists.

To late as I already got the 3 month special. Now I'm just preparing myself for the cancelation torture I'm about to go through mid July. :punch:?
A free trial was set up by the sales guy when I took delivery for one of my other vehicles a long while back and they started becoming a bit too ridiculous with the email reminders in the final month of the trial - I believe there was a free trial offer for my Ranger but, I think I unsubscribed from their emails right away.

Canada has good Electronic Documentation Regulation consent legislation (anti-SPAM and Unsubscribe). We also have strong laws around negative option billing and the consent required after initial offers expire. This keeps most of the legitimate players honest and when you tell them to bugger off, they do.

I got 3 months free recently by having the dealership do the oil change. Never got the message that the OP posted from Ford Pass though.

I like it when I have it but I agree with what MountainGoat stated - that local radio is not so bad that I would pay for Sirius. While I like the content and you listen to what you want to listen to - the hosts don’t have to work to get your attention. You already bought the subscription. But local radio - they do have to work at it so you don’t change the station and that’s what makes local fun. Not saying I didn’t enjoy the Sirius on my recent road trip but I still wouldn’t pay for it if I had too. Got other things to buy for the Ranger (of course) and with the current inflation, every penny counts!

I tried to listen to Sirius today only to be reminded why I don't have it.

I much prefer Pandora (Pandora Premium is included with my cell plan).

I never listened to Sirius when I had it, so I don't think I'll re-up and pay $5 a month to continue not listening to it.

Naw. Still got jars full of pennies. one day they will be worth a nickel?.
Or when my kid becomes a smart arse like me - use it to pay off some school fee or other. Did that with my yearbook and grad fee - way back (in the 80’s). The administration was none too pleased.

@AzScorpion You should be fine Dave. The last time we were out that way we only lost reception a couple of times (phone also) on the Beartooth Highway (212). It didn't matter one bit, because it's well worth the ride.
Agreed, when your on 212 you don’t need any radio it only distracts you from the view. Went through there in late June and they were still sking up close to the pass.

In February this year, SiriusXM announced they actually made a profit on ≈$300B on sales of $2.19B. Their net profit was just over 14%, with a per share earnings of .08¢. The problem, however, their net change in COH (cash on hand) dropped by almost 620%, and their COR (cost of revenue) went up over 5%!

Yes, streaming is a bit more expensive, a bit less diverse. However, more and more broadband companies are offering unlimited streaming rates, and it won't be long before streaming is less expensive.

Lastly, streaming is a whole lot more robust. If SiriusXM's satellite dies, there is a good change it will die as well.

Ive had sirius/xm off and on for years. While I do enjoy having it and appreciate the broad spectrum of their programming, like most, I find it hard to justify spending the money when there are so many free streaming services around.... I will always appreciate that despite the sales pitches to try and keep me on, they've never been pushy or rude about it ...and although it was likely a generous employee (and Im sure not a cooperate policy) when I deployed to AFG back in 2012, I called up to have them put my service on hold (obviously I wasnt going to be using it) the woman I spoke with thanked me and said no problem. After I got home, I never had to call them to restart my service. My radio was still working and kept working for a couple years until I sold my truck. Never got a bill.
