Forward camera defrost wires disconnected

I started to install a dash camera using a mirror power tap harness for power and found one wire had come unsoldered from the windshield. Assuming it is for a defrost line for the front camera.

Is there any special instructions for resoldering this to the glass? Worried about heating and cracking the glass.

Don’t think it’s defrosted wires but for your oh shit someone is stopped in front of you and your not stopping fast enough collision camera. mine was the same way. I was lucky enough to get it resoldered. Scared the shit out of me the next time I drove and the huge red light started flashing at me approaching a car.

That red LED HUD light for the collision thing (on the XL), and the associated alarm sound, get me sitting straight up every time! I don't need coffee for a good hour or two! =)

It's gone off maybe 4 times in two years and always on a big roundabout and the only cars in front of me are like 2 and 3 car lengths away.

I would just break out the soldering iron and resolder it.

I have used this method a few times in my career and it worked, sometimes if there is enough solder on the back of the tab, you may not even need have to add any

No. I was out but I just got some from Amazon today. Gonna try again
