FWIW, the passenger side grommet is about even with the bottom of the glovebox, I was just able to route power and coax through it without taking the glovebox out. That grommet is much easier to get at from the engine compartment side as well.

I drilled a hole in my driver side firewall and used small piece of 3/8” rubber air line as a grommet. Works great

There's a circular bump a few inches in diameter, just left of the brake pedal. I'm assuming it might be where a clutch would go?? Where did you drill through the driver side firewall?
