Super nice because it gives people remote start without having to pay for the additional option.

I had to pay $15/month in my Jeep for the equivalent of Ford Pass. The nice thing was talk to text which the Ranger doesn't have...?

Doesn't matter. USPS photographs every piece of mail that you receive anyway. I know this because you can now sign up for "Informed Delivery" and they will email you photos of your mail every morning so you know what's coming.
Right?! My girl was reading our mail to me on her phone (I thought it was cool being texted when a package was scanned in the system), this however is just creepy...

Why?

If I need a phone, I have one. It's a flip phone or a land line at home.

If I need a computer, I have one... at home.

I live within my means. I plan if I am going somewhere and take a map with me....

And I sure as hell don't have Alexa sitting on the shelf, keeping track of what I say, do, buy, etc.

If you never had it you won't miss it. Now that I have it I'm glad it'll now be free but I was willing to pay a reasonable amount per month/year to keep it. You can remote start your truck, lock and unlock, check tire pressure and link it to your Ford credit account along with many other features.

There have been many times where I've second guessed myself if I had locked the truck. So with one quick touch in the app I can conform this rather than walk out of a restaurant or wherever I'm at. Convenient... yes,necessary...no

You are better off. So tired of the whole look at me I am on my phone thing, I do IT for a company too..

Anyway I think this is a really good announcement.

I have that app. When I get the email every morning I wish I could select what mail to deliver, and opt out of what I don't want. Let the USPS deal with the junk mail.

Smart move. I'm going with Ford understands privacy laws and will strip out personally identifiable data and use telematics to improve the product through engineering analysis and data. It should also be used to remote update SW. Remote updating is a different beast though...that should require an opt-in enabler for those that do not want a specific update (say user interface changes). Think Tesla. I may be on the other side of the coin from many of you but this change is happening across a wide range of products in society today. Yes, they gain some cross sell features.

So why even post if you do not care? For those of us who do care and use the features provided, this is great information to have.

Thanks.

So what's to prevent a hacker from gaining access to this and stealing anybodies truck?
