Just don’t drain your battery locking/unlocking, starting/stopping your truck from the couch.

LOL... I'm "learning" how to ask/order Alexa what I want ... so far, I know how far to empty and what my tire pressures are... Will try starting tomorrow when I can open the garage door..

Some geniuses over on reddit have figured out how to get Siri Shortcuts working with the FordPass app so you can tell Siri to start your truck, stop it, unlock it, lock it, check the fuel, oil etc. Ive installed the shortcuts and tested them all out on my device and they are working perfectly.

If any of you don't know what this does or means, it means you can control your truck by voice and don't need to open the FordPass app to to do any of the above mentioned commands. Something I've been waiting a loooooooong time for that Ford will likely never bring us.

On your phone, you need to go to settings>shortcuts> toggle "allow untrusted shortcuts" on.

Also, I had to change the wording from "Car" to "Truck" on each shortcut because Siri wouldn't run the command using "car"

Link to instructions:
Is it possible to have a shortcut run after one is completed?

Example: after running "Lock My Car" have that shortcut run "Is My Car Locked?"

or "Start My Car" then run "Is My Car Running?"

just call the next API in the short cut. It’s just a workflow.

I’d wait a bit and then just ask. Mine always works, sometimes it just takes a minute or two.

These all seem to work very well! Thanks for sharing. Now if only the Ford Pass app wouldn't take so long to communicate.

I've pretty much abandoned the Ford app in lieu of the Siri short cuts for my everyday tasks. That way I can Dick Tracy from my watch. The watch app was always flakey, the app always seemed to have logged me out when i tried to use it. I'd have to open my phone and log back in. Kinda negates the connivence factor.

Since the Siri short cuts retrieve the login credentials each time, that's no longer an issue.

/nerd rant over

Thanks for sharing this content. I'm going to see if I can convert the map location to a physical address when locating my truck. This way Siri can tell me the address where my truck is located.

Ive got this to lock and unlock my car but when i say 'start my car' i get a message start command failed.... ?
If i say 'stop my car' the stop i get message saying command is sent so it must be communicating..
Any ideas why it wont start my car

I had to change it from using “car” to “truck”. Try that.
