FordPass not remote locking/starting etc

Hey all,
So probably starting a week ago, I can no longer use the Ford pass app to start or lock/unlock my truck. It tries but then just times out. My truck is up to date as far as I know and the app. Anyone else have this going on?

Is the ranger in a sleep mode?
Mine, since I don't drive it for a while, it then goes to sleep mode and then the Ford pass doesn't always see the ranger.

This has happened to others several times. IIRC some fixed theirs by signing out of the app then uninstalling it and reinstalling it. But for others this didn't work but it's worth a try.

It’s my daily driver so I doubt it. I’ve tried everyday this week.

Ahh okay. I was worried that it would unlink my VIN if I signed out. It was a pain in the ass to get it to connect to my truck since it was a certified preowned even though the previous owner never signed it up

Once you create your account your email should link you right back up to it. Key word is should as Ford is not known for the best tach services but I don't remember anyone else having issues signing back in.

Are you on Android or Apple? Only reason I ask is mine works fine and I'm on a iPhone 8+ running IOS 14.4.2.

FORDPASS app works fine on Android. Just that the information is not updated on the ford owner site (owner.ford.com)

Did the log out and even deleted and reinstalled the app. No dice on an iphone11 by the way

No issues on my Ranger, but I had a similar issue on my Fusion when the car battery charge dropped below a certain level. It was shutting things down like sleep mode does, but without the warnings. After I charged the battery the problem cleared.

One other thing…. If you are in a poor reception area, then the Fordpass remote functions may not work. Have you tried it in multiple locations?

Its worked fine for months and it's my daily driver with about a 40 min commute so hopefully the battery isn't the issue. I haven't really tried in other locations so maybe it is just the reception, I'll give that a shot.

Decided to buy HitchSafe and Eff the Ford pass. Don't want to be locked out after going surfing!

Check in the vehicle settings and see if you have an ESN for the onboard modem. If it is blank (no ESN), your modem is bad. Mine is too, but I just don't care enough to deal with taking it in. It's a known problem.
