Who is watching the credit card? And what list is going to what companies? Inquiring minds would like to know.

Do some research. The UN seems to be involved with implementing this.

Corporate drone. Dilbert's world is alive & well.
My insurance company already sends an unmarked person around renewal time (usually in a nondescript vehicle, like a black Dodge Caravan) to take photos of my property and analyze risk based upon what’s visible. So if you have a bunch of paint and flammable items on your back porch (even if you’re a painter or artist), it doesn’t matter - rate increase coming.
A year or so ago there was a news story about a guy getting a rate increase because the @$&*#% insurance company flew a drone over his property so that they could see his backyard. Didn't like what they saw and either raised his rates or dropped him... don't remember which.

Insurance is so infuriating. It's all good.... until you need it.

My mom and my uncle were both in the Spook trade, and their biggest concern was always unauthorized access-what IRS calls UNAX. They used to shake their heads in dismay because otherwise intelligent people would blithely put their life stories on any form that was placed in front of them. They would be horrified at what goes on today.
The IC spent billions of $ to get software that did link analysis proficiently. Now, with social media, it's easy-peasy; everyone is doing the job for them.

FordPass has been "free" to me since I bought truck. After spending 20+ minutes trying to navigate around the phone app, I see nowhere to opt out of anything. I did see opt out of selling personal info, but it was only for a handful of states, mine not one of them. If anyone has instructions on how to, please share. i'd like to slow the bleeding...

P.S. I did see the part where they track speeds, driving areas etc.

Good point.

However, that was one of the areas I asked Ford about. They were very cagey, but it appears to come down to what Ford means by "data" and "sharing." I came away from the conversation that Ford and I have different definitions of both words. Also, even if we could agree, Ford takes a very odd view of who owns the data (perhaps, somewhat negating the option).

and that screenshot was not something I could find as well.

There could be regional differences with the app, I'm in Canada. Data privacy laws are a little different here.

I previously posted how they collect much more than your speed such as:
  • contact info, (name, address, phone number, etc.)
  • demographics, (personal info, age, gender, marital status, etc.)
  • device details and network information, (device types, serial numbers, MAC addresses, internet activity, etc.)
  • digital activity, (online activity and usage patterns, times, websites, etc.)
  • driving data, (speed, use of accelerator, brakes, steering, and the location they occur)
  • identification numbers, (drivers license number, license plate, customer and account ID)
  • media analytics, (What is listened to in your vehicle, audio info, electronic info)
  • payment data, (payment card numbers, virtual wallet info, transaction info, billing info)
  • preferences, (languages, websites, apps, etc.)
  • security, (passwords, security questions, and answers to those questions, and customer records personal information)
  • vehicle data, (VIN hardware, parts numbers, odometer, tire pressures, fuel and fluid levels, battery status, lock/unlock state, etc)
  • vehicle location, (latitude/longitude, direction, speed, etc.)
  • vehicle service history. (visit details, service details, repair history, recall repairs, etc.)
And send it to much more than just insurance companies such as:
  • Government authorities (regulatory, law enforcement, courts)
  • financial institutions
  • Ford Motor company family of companies and affiliates
  • Ford service providers and suppliers
  • Ford business partners (marketing, social media)
  • Advertising companies
  • Analytics companies
  • Joint marketing providers
  • Wi-Fi hotspot providers

A guy on the Mustang forum got a very rude awakening when his insurance rates went to the moon because they tracked him driving on...a racetrack. He was only able to get this information by filing a California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) request.

So if this is all they collet, they can wait the extra few seconds for the diagnostic computer to download it. Odd I still have to tell them my millage if I take it in for service
The other funny thing is when I am at home I have to turn WiFi off on my phone to see and change these setting. The Pi-Hole on my network is probably blocking some dumb tracking and causing the app to glitch. Similar glitching with my Petro Canada app too.

Even funnier, I use the Brave browser. I have to turn off traking protection on this site, otherwise I can't upload images

Isn't it ironic that we have so much trouble updating the Sync3 software, but it's so easy for them to capture all this data about us and sell it/turn it over to whoever?

When I found Cyanlabs and the simplicity and sability of their updating tool. I shut off auto updates and never looked back.
