I recently got my Ranger back after a repair from a fender bender, and the Ford Pass App location page isn't working. I mean I press on 'location' and that function in the app doesn't even open. Everything else in the app works just fine, but it doesn't even bring up the map and mark the location of the truck.

Something changed recently with the location services.
I no longer have 'live' location tracking - truck has to be sitting still for a period of time before it updates the location.

Make sure you're on the newest Sync update 3.4.23188. The old one (3.4.22251) was corrupted and had several issues one being the location doesn't update. You have to update this one with a USB drive as OTA doesn't work. Before the update mine was still showing me parked in AZ 2 months after living here in AR. Now it updates almost instantly.

Maybe it defaulted your settings. Not sure which system you have, but in IOS go to Settings>Apps>Ford Pass>Location> Choose an option. Also Cellular Data must be on for continuous location.

Mine started doing the same thing last week. I am on the latest Sync version as well as Android app.

Those are phone GPS settings - the truck isn't reporting its location.
Android settings are similar.

thanks. Checked the Android settings (similar) and the app has all permissions. Still doesn't show location.

I would refer to @AzScorpion's post #3 and check that the truck has the most current software version.

I'm not sure, but on a similar topic awhile ago, people were having different problems with a software update; menu items worked for some but not all.
Could be wrong, but there may be different software builds depending on whether you have the 4 in or 8 in screen, Navigation or not, etc. In the display's settings, insure that your software is up to date, which may or may not be the same build number that is quoted here.
Just a hunch by some dude on the Internet.

That's the only way I could get my FordPass app to work again was by doing the Sync update. The location, fuel level and remote functions all started having problems which are all tied back to the Sync update. Ford even sent out emails noting these problems and (at the time) said if needed your local dealer would do the update free of charge.

I called the Ford In Vehicle Technology Dept. 800-392-3673 and they walked me through it using a USB drive. It took less than 30 minutes and once done everything was back working again with zero issues now.

Ok, I'm still at a loss on this issue.
Current software installed on vehicles, the issue happened after an app update - was working fine and then was not.

This is an issue with all 3 vehicles registered in the app. - 2 Escapes and my Ranger.

All three still have remote functions working (fuel level, lock-unlock, remote start) I just don't get locations to update unless the vehicle isn't moving.

Sometimes my truck's location will lag if I make multiple stops, staying with the previous location. It doesn't happen often, and usually I can get it to update by rebooting my phone, but not this last time. It finally updated the location once I got home and on my wifi.

I still miss the mountain background on the home page that went away an update or two ago. Had to decontent a 1kb image??

That's the same thing I routinely get. Verified that both the app and Sync are current versions.

• If you have an iPhone go to Settings>Apps>FordPass. Under Location, check that it is not set to Never.
• Background app refresh and cellular data should both be set to On for best results.

Android phones should have similar settings
