You cannot switch dealers once ordered unless the dealer transfers it. Most won’t do that as they want you to walk away from it for the ability to mark it up.
I have been told that only Ford can do that and there are certain buzzwords that must be used. ‘Fractured relationship‘, things like that. worst case scenario I will simply not order and let it roll over. I’m in for $100 which I will get back at some point. But I haven’t ordered it yet. Still just a reservation with an opportunity to order by 12 Jan.

I would wait. All you would be buying right now is highly overpriced hype. Let it go through it's first few years of problems and get ironed out. Right now nobody "needs" one because they can't do anything as well as a real truck yet. People are spending way to much money to be the first kid on the block to have one.
my neighbor has one, so I would be the second . Several others have already ordered theirs. As far as doing things like a real truck i would disagree; there is not a truck that can accelerate and ride like this truck. i have had F100s, F150s, a F250 and a F350 dually. All had their purpose, and this truck is a great commuter. Drive one and see for yourself. Here is my neighbors….

If acceleration and ride for commuting is what you are looking for there are some nice cars for less than half the price. If it is a novelty you want, then that truck is what you need.

You can get a top of the line Mercedes SUV EV for 30 grand less....will give you all the comfort, acceleration, AND status you'll need. Top of line Pinnacle is around 60 grand. Loaded all the way, 65 grand.

Oh sorry, thought you ordered

just call customer care and switch to any dealer you want. You be in the queue at that dealership according to your Reservation time and date amongst their overall reservations so not like you go to the back of the line necessarily. You definitely want to call around. I couldn’t find enough dealers nearby that had few enough reservations to move mine.

Here's a great "deal" on a Lightning. It's called "used" with 300 miles, is that how dealers get around the restriction on markups?

Savings $13,011. They meant we couldn't find a sucker for $120K so we had to lower it. lol

I still need the truck to do, you know, truck things. I could get almost anything, but still need a truck. Not sure where you get the Mercedes from.

I drive 230 miles roundtrip for work. I drive once a month to NC to work on the property. I have been putting 2500 miles plus on the Ranger, and need it to do truck things. I just would like a vehicle that is fun to drive, and it’s way more fun than the ranger and can still be used as a truck. It’s a tool, but a nice tool. Still will be keeping the Ranger.

If the markup is worth it to you then by all means order one. Sounds like you are not in need of one or need to be in a hurry which means you have all the time you want to shop dealers until you find someone you are comfortable with.

There is no markup IF you order one. It’s MSRP. Which has increased about 15k since it was opened for orders. The trucks you see on dealer lots are orders that the person who ordered did not buy. These, like Broncos, are marked up to insane prices.

I would have ordered one already if I could have gotten an XLT. Just don’t want the top two trim levels.

FWIW I have a day 1 reservation for the electric Silverado, so might wait and see if they can do better.

From Mercedes Web Site...
2023 Mercedes EQB350 4Matic, suggested retail, $60,200. Platinum Edition, loaded, around $5000 more.
