I love my fords and won’t buy anything else because the ALL have their problems and issues
And yes, there is no perfect vehicle. I’ve been on colorado forums reading up as that or a Tacoma will be my next truck. Many issues with them as well.

The cult that is Tacoma will have you convinced you need to be on your knees with an offering and begging Toyota to sell you a vehicle.

Yea there are people stupid enough to do that. I just bought my wife an brand new Toyota Rav4 Hybrid XSE. I told them not paying over msrp and if it don't come with two keys I don't want it. I found one within a month and got it a little below invoice. Traded a 18 CRV and paid cash for the rest. They gave us more than we paid for the CRV so I was happy with the deal.

Well its Oct 2, and they replaced the FRONT DRIVESHAFT. They told me all along it was the front left axle. Once I took possession of the truck after the work was done I looked underneath to check out my new front axle. To my surprise, it was rusty and matched the other side. I also spotted some damage where they removed some bracing and failed to paint it to prevent future rusting.

I brought the truck back around to service, and told them about the issues and the service manager informed me it was the front driveshaft that was replaced, not the axle. They took the truck back and painted the bracing where they grinded it down. He said they had to grind it down because it was rusted so badly. ??? My truck has 12k miles on it, always garaged, never seen snow, and only has typical surface rust. I really hate that dealership but any other option is HOURS away.

Well in their defense they are both spinny things that turn the wheels and make the truck go go . Easy mistake :)

You could try the dealers in Blue Ridge, Blairsville and Ellijay Ga., which aren’t too far from Murphy. I bought my truck at the Ellijay dealer, but I’ve never used them for service, so I don’t know how their service dept is.

I’m confused, was the drive shaft the problem and did the repair fix your problem?

I'm up near Robbinsville, so even going to Murphy is an hour drive. I can consider those other dealers but it would just be even further. Might need to consider it.

So, the whole time they referred to the issue as the front axle when in reality, it was the front driveshaft. Did it fix the issue? Hard to say since I only heard bad noises from it after the truck was hot after a long drive and I haven't listened for it yet. But so far I don't hear anything.

The truck actually seems fine right now, but I'm still considering selling it. I've had several warranty issues even though I only have 12k miles on it.

Hey guys.

Ford gave me a free extended warranty (they call it Premium Care) for 5 years/75k miles transferrable warranty for my troubles. $100 deductible.

So that changes things. In my opinion, they made it right and I'm not considering selling it anymore. The key is to contact Ford Corp if you are having trouble with something. I hope this advice helps someone else.
