Hi guys,
I am looking for a taillgate ladder or something to ease the process of entering the bed.. just saw that : https://theflipstep.com/ very nice product but look like it wont fit with a cover. They say they will make one that fit with a cover. This one look solid and not compromising the space in the bed. What are your thoughts ?

Other than one of the factory steps available from Ford and GM, that's the best solution I've seen. I don't have a cover on my truck, so I can't comment there. Good luck, sir.

Interesting!
I saw a video for one out of Austrailia, but it covered the full tailgate and was rather bulky.
This one is pretty compact and looks good as well!

I installed a TrekStep from www.bestop.com Convenient, flips down and up out of the way with a tap of your foot. Not cheap, but one of the best options available unless you need a full ladder.

Yeah it would be my first choice but in canada they are hard to find and right now you must ad 40% to the price because of our weak dollar ? I am afraid if I order it from US I would pay more dollar for duty

I have a Traxion tailgate ladder.
https://realtruck.com/p/traxion-tailgate-ladder/v/ford/ranger/2019/
Easy install, not terribly expensive, doesn't interfere with my tonneau.
Watched those too. It is strange I saw them for 55 canadian dollar on amazon ?? So almost half the price of 80 us dolar on your link.

What do you think of the quality of the product does it seem heavy duty ? And for,the instalation you need to do a few holes in the tailgate i think ? You like it ?

This one can be used if the truck bed is loaded... Nice!

But at this point.... as a 59 year old guy.... I don't see why a fella can't simply step on the step bumper to gain access?
Can't step on the step bumper if the tailgate is down??

Sure you can... well, at least my size 12's can.

The bumper is wider than the tailgate.

On the side corners of the bumper, yeah. But that only gains you an extra couple inches, and not splitting the difference or giving you a few steps to get up in like these added steps do. If you can step up to the bumper to help you get into the bed, then you can likely make it the extra couple inches to just step onto the tailgate.

I guess I can see how for somebody with limited mobility these steps would be helpful. Kind of... just seems awkward as hell to me.

I've been around / helping / using pickup trucks since the late 1960's and have never needed a ladder.

Another access point we use, if there is a load in the truck and need to get into the bed, is to grab the bed rail with both hands and use the rear tire as a step to get up into the truck.

Question: How do you "store" the ladder once you've got a full load of lumber laying on the tailgate?
