Now that a number of us are proud owners of our very own Fitz Stick, has anyone had their truck in the shop at the dealer and had a tech notice the stick? If so, what was the reaction?

Didn't want to clutter the ever growing "I want a Fitz Stick!" thread with this question.

At the Ford dealer here he was happy about it when he did the valve body repair, if he had to pull the transmission I was wondering if he would want to charge a little extra to R&R the stick, his response was "probably not because it takes less time to R&R it than checking and filling the fluid from below" but this is a dealer I used to work at a long time ago and still have a few friends there.

I would like to hear what any dealer/shop responses are as well!!!

Mine has been to the dealership twice for the TSB fix ( reflash and valve body clean/replace where they replaced fluid twice). They haven’t said anything about the Fitzstick. Goes in this Thursday for the next phase. I would imagine the R&R on the Fitzstick would be minimal. Just disconnect at fitting, remove upper bolt and pull the tube up a couple of inches out of the way.

Yes, that's exactly how I told it to the tech when mine went in.?

It ended up just being the valve body repair, but... it's still acting up, so I suspect it will have to come out and get a more extensive repair.

I had my 2010 XLT in for service at the local Ford dealership on Wednesday for an oil change and asked if they would check battery, been having the usual issues with a 4 year old battery. They finished oil change and battery test came back as bad battery, which I knew was coming. I requested to upgrade to a new battery, the H7 battery, was told they couldn't/wouldn't since it would not fit and the truck originally came with a H6 battery. I then declined the smaller battery and said I would go elsewhere. I did ask how they performed transmission fluid replacement, the service writer said it didn't need doing until 150,000 miles, they pump out the fluid and replace what's removed. Filter does not need replacing due to "sealed for life" transmission, and I then asked if pan was replaced with aftermarket does that cause issues with warranty. Answer was yes. I have the Fitz stick still in the box, was waiting until I had Ford change the oil and could ask intelligent questions. All previous oil changes were done at local oil change shop which I will go back to at the next interval. I am not happy with local Ford dealership service, only used them to create more Fordpass points on my wife's 2023 Edge, so it will get a few more free oil changes until the points run out. XLT has 45,000 miles and this is the first and only time since new has it been back to Ford for any service. I did not ask them about the Fitz stick, as I figured they would say something about non Ford parts. I will probably wait until 60k miles to install a PPE pan, but will install the dipstick very soon and keep original dipstick handy just in case.

Highly suggest you do this, do not give them a reason to deny warranty.
