Welcome to the forum Justin. :like:

 It took you exactly one drive to figure out the two worst things about the truck. IMO. Ride quality from stock shocks and the terrible gearing programmed from factory.

I've personally done the whole "transmission learning" sequence 2x. Didn't make one difference to me, placebo at best.

Just get used to hitting the trailer button each time you get in or spending $500 on getting it tuned properly, which may or may not void warranty depending on who you ask.

Outside of that..love my truck, especially when I hear about gas mileage from my friends who have full size.

Enjoy upgrading...btw..I went with this bug deflector: AVS 21954.

Cheers!

On the adaptive shifting patterns. Like others have said, use the +/- buttons to lock out and then shift up if you need it. In Sport mode, will shift as you press buttons or if you hold the +/- for about 4 seconds it will make the transmission shift automatically.

In honesty it took my truck about 5K miles before I was somewhat happy with the shift patterns. By 10K it was behaving pretty nicely and now at 20K don’t even think about it. Very smooth shifts. I still lock out gears around town or it will lug.

Welcome to the family!

Or just get a tune and it'll shift better and be faster. ? ?

You making fun of me. I have a car with a powerglide.
I love the old powerglides with the Chevy Small blocks 265ci - 400ci. (283 and 327 are my favs), and the best of those is a 283 bottom end mated to the 327 with fuelie heads... 4" pistons - shorter stroke of the 283 with the 327 power! Oh Yeah!

Also fun - Muncie M21 or better yet M22 rock crusher 4 speed manual trannie

During the "break in/learning" phase I drove in tow mode for the first 3k miles. Then I went back to D mode and the shifting was a lot more to my liking in city traffic and my RPMs were around 2k. All I really do is city driving so don't know if adding a lot of highway miles will change this

Mine is mated with a 327 350 hp in an air conditioned 66 corvette roadster. Needs to be put back on the road. Great car though.
