Looking at ordering a new '23 5g Ranger XLT (likely Granger) and sucking it up for the wait time. No ExCab's locally for me to test-sit. Ergonomics are important to me - I'm old (69), tall (6ft4in), not thin (~230 lbs), getting in/out of driver's side and knee position wrt right leg interfering with steering wheel and console when driving has me wondering (this is a problem for me now in my puny Honda Civic, not a problem at all in my current F150 SCab).

I know Ranger ExCab has a longer door which should (?) aid entry/exit. The '21 Ranger Crew I test-sat in was OK at best for me (I could make it work but certainly not comparable to my F150), was wondering if an ExCab would be less of an issue.

So all you old/tall folks out there - what's you're feedback?

I'm 6ft 5 in, 300lbs.
I have my seat adjusted to where I have 2 fingers clearance from the roof and almost zero tilt back. I like to be as high as possible. With this setting I just fit my head will hit on entry/exit. Especially since I thew my back . When my back gets better I should be able to flex enough to exit without hitting.

My right knee just rests on front panel.

XLT suicide door model.

Truck is easier getting in and out of compared to the 05 4 door taco I had, but the taco felt like it had just a smidge more leg room.

I did just spend 12 hours on a road trip and I was able to walk when done. Less hip pain having the seat as high as possible while giving up leg room.

I dislike how the seat moves forward while rasing.

Ford probably designed the seating for the 80% male.

SuperCab door is 5” longer than the SuperCrew. If adjustment back on seat isn’t enough you can always get extenders. I’m 6’ myself and plenty of headroom in the SuperCab

My $0.02..... we have a SuperCab with a 3" lift. I am 6'1" and 225lbs, 36" inseam with correspondingly long arms. Once inside everything fits pretty well. Headroom is fine, distance to steering wheel is fine, legroom is fine. Getting in requires a bit of planning. Getting right knee under the steering wheel at max height and seat at max lenght is doable, but I still hit the bottom of the steering wheel with my thigh going under most of the time. Getting in with the 3" lift requires either hiking my right butt-cheek onto the seat and then using that to lever in the rest of my body or stepping up on the somewhat narrow ledge of the Shrockworks sliders. There is a grab bar on the passenger side (wifey is similarly sized) but none on the driver side. None of this has ever been a true problem, but you probably would be best served by finding one to try out before you place an order. I am in South Bay of CA if you want to come over and test-sit in mine, maybe drive it around the block.

I am a couple inches shorter and maybe 35 lbs lighter so not a perfect fit to your dimensions.

I have a SuperCrew and don't find ingress/egress a problem. Headroom is great, etc. I just got a new hip (closing in on 4 weeks ago) so I still have to get in butt first then pivot my legs, no problems at all.

Having said that, I would get a SuperCab if I had it to do all over. We don't need the rear seats per se. (the dogs might disagree, but will be fine with the Scab rear seating arrangement).

The extra foot of bed would come in handy in many ways, so I think jettisoning the rear cab for a longer bed is worth it. Plus, getting access without walking around the rear door: a bonus in my book.

Plus, I think the Scab looks like a truck versus an SUV with a small bed... ;)

I'm 6'5"/270lbs. I have the XLT SCAB. I tested a Lariat before settling on the XLT and found that the XLT seats had more range of adjustability.
