I'm curious as to what the ticking/clicking noise I am hearing is. The one that sounds like an old school turn signal flasher.
I know the sewing machine sound is pretty normal for direct injection engine but, the loud ticking is extremely noticeable from the front of the truck. I can't seem to narrow down where it is coming from.
Truck has ~800 miles on it and I noticed this noise about a week ago. Seems to become clear once the idle has settled after a start up.
I know it’s been a while since you posted this but that noise is 100% without a doubt your fan clutch. I had the exact same issue on mine.

It isn’t normal. I’m waiting on my fan clutch to come in.

Took me awhile to diagnose it. I kept trying when it’s cold and couldn’t duplicate it. Then I realized when I do remote start and it runs awhile it does it. Right when the fan clutch starts working. Used stethoscope. And isolated it to the fan clutch

I noticed this on my 2021 the other night. After driving for awhile with ac on and truck is nice and warmed up I can hear the fan clutch clicking after I park. It stops after 30 seconds or so. Are ev fans just noisy or does it need to be replaced.

I bought a 2019 Ranger in March. As far at the sewing machine noise goes, and the never ending "gear searching" when pulling away from a stop, I got rid of them both, real quick. I wasn't about to put up with that!

After a 50 mile 1 hour drive today without the ac on no ticking from fan. I made a appointment with Ford but they are a month out guess I’ll just keep an eye on it.

I replaced my fan clutch today so it is officially confirmed. Noise is gone. I didn’t have a doubt anyway tho. Mine made that noise since I bought it it’s done.
Thank You for the update. Glad its fixed. Mine goes in next week for service.

I have a ticking sound that can only be heard when walking up from behind the truck, also only when cold! I have an appointment for the 1st of Aug to take my truck in for the tranny. Original complaint from me is when I am backing into my garage I can hear what sounds like a hissing noise from the tranny, when I put it in neutral it stops, in drive or reverse it starts again. I've worked on hydraulics for years and it sounds like a high pressure leak. Anyone else experience this?
