GM is building battery facilities and have partnered with LG (I think?). Ford is smart for partnering with Volkswagen a couple of years ago. They’re going to need all the help they can get IMO.
I hope I’m wrong, but I think GM is going to have the lead with their electric vehicles.

But this truck sounds cool. Can’t wait to see the debut.

Then, don't do that? We have emergency gen, so not an issue for us, but....
I foresee people using their vehicles thinking they’ll be back in power shortly and then being stranded. Luckily I’m about to have a standby generator and I’ll be getting a backup generator for our summer place soon enough.

So, in a multi-day power outage, you can power your home, but then what if you have to go somewhere and your battery is dead?
From what I understand, the system will automatically turn on the motor when power drops below a set point, and so you need not fear draining the batteries. Running out of gas is another matter....

I suppose that works on a vehicle with a motor in addition to the electric one, but an all electric would be screwed.

I agree with your thinking, but I've been in the world long enough to know there are a lot of stupid people who won't think that through.

Around 1998 there was a huge ice storm in the Northeast, I was near the Canadian border in NY. No power for something like 9 days, and being fairly rural no power meant no water. We cleared the roads enough to drive my Ranger down to a local bottler and pick up a few dozen gallons of water. We split it with our neighbor, whose wife took a flippin bath with it the next day. I did not offer to help them again.

Yeah. Stupid games, stupid prizes. Jeez.

I could easily set up a solar camp shower and my wife would be like, Yeah, this is fine. I love my wife.

Right, I was referencing the current Power Boost option on

Right, I was referencing the current Power Boost system. All electric, it would definitely have more juice to start, but of course it would risk going dry with too much draw. Presumably, the engineers have thought of this, and the power would shut itself off before draining the vehicle's batteries. But then your house goes cold and dark again....

Have any of you seen the movie Dilemma? If not watch it. I wish these new EVs would have a system like the EV Dodge Challenger they build. Spoiler: it has an exterior audio system to make sound like a V8. It would be awesome to see it happen in the real world.

The tesla model 3 can do this with the external pedestrian speaker. You can upload custom any custom sound you want

Interesting, I did not know that. Does it respond with the gas pedal? For example, If I press the gas pedal does it sound like I am driving a non-EV. That is what was so great about the car in the movie. It sounded like you are actually driving a V8 challenger.

I'm sure they could, I swear my Ranger sounds just like a 302 v8
