Hey y'all, just received Eibach's Stage 2R kit in the mail. I've done all my other mods myself, but nothing to the scale of this.
That is to say I am by no means a mechanic. I've found the step-by-step guides on the install, but am still debating whether to bite the extra $$$ and send it to a shop.
Wondering if any of y'all have gone the shop install route and have any tips there, or if you did the self-install and would recommend that route.

Take your time. You got this.
Worst case scenario you pop out one of the axle shafts.. they’re a bit of a pain to pop back in.. however the whole project is actually pretty easy…. I’d say it’s medium difficulty

Hell yeah, I can work with medium difficulty. Didn't sound too bad based off the instructions, but I'm glad to get some confirmation. Gonna do my research and go for a measure-twice-cut-once approach. Will update and post pics when done

You got this.. only thing I can think is to make sure to not set them at the absolute highest setting… maybe just second to highest… also you may want to invest in some nice upper control arms when you get the chance… have a strap ready to hold up the spindle so it doesn’t just fall over, also make sure to have something to strap up the brake caliper so that’s not putting extra stress on the brake lines…. And always putt some wheel chalks/stops when working on the truck.. use the e brake too but don’t rely on just the e brake.
Also have a good torque wrench and use proper specs.
It’s tedious details yeah.

Did it myself, wasn't too much of a problem. Front right took 2.5hrs. Front left took 1.5 hrs. Entire rear, including 1" block, took 2 hrs. Didn't have any problems with the CV coming out. Hub socket size was incorrect and time included a run to the auto store. You have this. I'll second the need to have some straps handy to hold the parts up.

Sorry don't remember. The size mentioned in the instructions was incorrect for my vehicle, but I've since learned that Rangers come with different sized hub nuts, so I don't think that you can tell until you take the wheels off. Tying up the detached components seemed to fix the detached CV problem reported by others. You'll need some penetrating oil and a long pry bar; you have to put a bit of weight on the lower control arms to remove the factory units. I installed mine as adjusted at the factory (2.5" I think, although some accounts state 3") and have not needed upper control arms. I did install 1" blocks on the rear to keep the rake for towing and bed loads. I followed up the install with pizza cutter tires; 235/85r17, and I'm thrilled with the whole installation. Offroad the truck feels more like my Honda 520 independent suspension quad, than a pickup; and this setup conquers washboard gravel roads that I drive on several times per week. Don't forget an alignment, it will be necessary.

I paid a shop to do it because I have more money than free time (not that I have much of either).

Shop also did UCAs and an alignment. Dropped off at night, picked it up the next afternoon.

I have a 21 Tremor and just installed the Eibach Pro 2 front and rear. I also changed my UCA's with SPC. If I did it you can do it.

In my younger years, I would have done it but I had access to a fully equipped garage. At 70 YO, my mind said go for it and my body said "Hell NO!". Not having a quality external spring compressor factored in too. I have a good friend with a body shop and his head mechanic did it on his own time, at the shop. He was $400, 2 local shops quoted over a grand with the alignment.

Heck man, I'm 68. Did not need the sorting compressor all that. Took me awhile on the first side. I changed rotors and brakes pads all that. Alignment was $100.

Wasn't thinking about your set up. I got them without springs. Old injuries limit what I am willing to tackle these days.

I was quoted $850+...that was enough to turn me into a mechanic...I'm glad I didn't read the horror stories of CV bearings on the ground...in spite of popping both, I was able to get both back in...I would not want to do this install again...
