What he may have done is throw folks that drive older cars under the bus... Older cars have a tough time with E10. We tested various mixtures of Ethanol back when the carburetor was king. Interior damage to the carburetor was significant at about E15 and higher. Steel fuel tanks also had significant problems with long term use as I recall.Nay! I would have thought the use of an "alcohol" in steel tanks would help deter the rusting from water/condensation in the tanks??What he may have done is throw folks that drive older cars under the bus... That's like saying don't snort cocaine containing more than 15% crack .From the owner's manual:

We'll be fine.

Just the opposite. Alcohol attracts the condensate and the tanks rust from the inside out... Fuel filter clogging rust... There was an attempt to nickle plate the inside of the tank and the carburetors.. It worked but was too pricey....I would have thought the use of an "alcohol" in steel tanks would help deter the rusting from water/condensation in the tanks??![]()
I read it as saying don't use E85. I've never heard of anything in-between E15 and E85.That's like saying don't snort cocaine containing more than 15% crack .

Hi Mike,I read it as saying don't use E85. I've never heard of anything in-between E15 and E85.
Thanks, Phil. So we can put this to rest now.Hi Mike,
Although there have been testing of various blends of Ethanol above E15, the systems on the Ranger were designed for a max of E15, using materials that were viable with E0 to E15...
Best,
Phil
Nope, I say lets beat this horse until it's fully dead! I just hate the idea of corn in my fuel, but I do like corn in my belly. Thanks, Phil. So we can put this to rest now.
Put what to rest? Inquiring minds want to know. The politics and science behind ethanol blended gasolines is complex to say the least. Bad science and bad legislation in practice. No different than the COVID Fraud? The COVID Fraud is far deadlier and was brought about by the same corrupt politics. Thanks, Phil. So we can put this to rest now.
If you read the OP's post, all that was asked is if it was safe to use E15. Am I missing something?Put what to rest? Inquiring minds want to know. The politics and science behind ethanol blended gasolines is complex to say the least. Bad science and bad legislation in practice.![]()
Read the entire thread and don't divert from the broad subject matter. If you read the OP's post, all that was asked is if it was safe to use E15. Am I missing something?
