That is a LOT of money for another battery ! Good idea , but too much cost unless you are off-roading a lot .

For a newb like me, what would be the easiest way to get a dual battery setup in our Rangers? I run ham radios and would be nice having two batteries and not get the sleep mode/preserve battery message all the time from my FordApp when the truck is off for more than an hour and a radio on in the background

If you don't mind charging in the bed, just using the Wolf Haus bed plug and literally any battery-in-a-box is going to be the easiest, most effective, warranty preserving solution.
