I have a Ranger on order with the fx4 package and I test drove one and didn’t like how wobbly the ride is. I intend to do some off-road driving around arizona and California. What would be a good upgrade to fix the wobbliness and make it feel less like a boat. Im in the military so a less expensive option would be best but I’m just trying to get ideas

Start with replacing the rear shocks first. Eibach, Fox or Bilstein all make great aftermarket ones. That alone should make a world of difference and then you can always add the fronts later on if needed.

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for your service from one Vet to another.
You say you took a test drive....and I'm willing to bet the tires were probably over inflated. The majority of new rigs come from the factory like that.
Before you do anything, check the pressure and adjust to the psi the door sticker recommends. Almost every Ranger comes with different tires/sizes/tread patterns, so adjust to what your sticker reads, and if your running with a light load, you can go even lower. That is a "free" mod, and as others suggested, a good set of aftermarket shocks would be next.

I found a great cost/performance balance with my Eibach Pro Kit...when I got mine it was under $600...almost 100,000 miles later, still riding great...I used the stock front springs to keep it at a modest 2.5" level...their spring is great for adding weight/winch/heavier bumper up front which I chose not to do...

You're absolutely correct in mentioning this!
Often times, even the tire pressure on the door sticker can be too high.
I often run much lower and in some cases, especially on a pickup truck, run lower pressure on the back than on the front.
Don't jump to conclusions about a vehicle that probably hasn't even been built yet.

When I first got my FX4, I definitely noticed the Boaty McBoatFace ride quality, but I just kind of got used to it and haven't bothered to upgrade the rear shocks yet. Mine came with LT265/65R17 tires and seem to ride well at 36-40 PSI. So you might be able to put off upgrading until you have more money to work with.

Experiment with tire pressure first. Then, I would look at rear shocks. Those two will fix most of what you are feeling.

FOX 2.0 stage 1, you will not regret it. Have ran this on a FX2 trim for 12,000 miles and it changes the ride unbelievably. I am now putting the same setup on my 23 FX4
