Hi all,

Just received the DPFE sensor assembly, in the process of doing some preventative maintenance on the truck.

Had my transmission rebuilt/overhauled In Jan so that helped with shifting a lot but still noticing some weird lurches in low speeds which i suspect could be related to DPFE.

I have no clue if this would matter either way but I will be doing an oil change (going to do it my 1st time using Valvoline Restore and Protect since I bought it at 91k miles) and running some redline s1 fuel system treatment. Should I do those things first and then change out the DPFE sensor or would there be no difference in the order?

Probably a dumb question but figured i would ask and see. TIA!

Check to see of the egr tube on the back of the engine is hot. It should be pretty warm after a drive. Mine was borderline cold. I threw a light but there was a lot of crud built up on my tube. Maybe I had a messy oil change 2 changes ago. But that means for thousands of miles it didn’t get hot enough to burn it off.

Now with a new sensor it burned it all off. Tells me my egr wasn’t working efficiently. Additionally it idles smoother and my mpgs seems to have increased to what they were before. I blamed it on winter fuel, i was wrong.

Interesting! That is good to know. Which tube should I be looking for exactly? I know the dpfe sensor is on the drivers side and then the egr is kind of on the passenger side if i’m not mistaken?
