Door chime

Is it normal for the Ranger to chime everytime you open the drivers door? Mine chimes when I open the door to get in and when I open the door to get out. It gets annoying. I have a Lariat FX4 with the keyless entry and push button start.

No entry or exit chime on my Lariat. Look in the owners manual and see what setting make a chime.

The headlights are set on auto, it has push button start so no key in the ignition, we always set the parking brake when we park.

Are you leaving the FOB in the truck? It definitely chimes on that.....

I leave my FOB in the truck when parked in my garage all the time and no chime out of mine.

Found the problem. Apparently when I had the windows tinted they turned the lights to off. My wife drove it the first time at night after that and had to turn the lights on manually. She set them to on instead of auto by mistake. Back on auto now and no chime. The lights do automatically turn off after a few minutes even in the on position.

Sort of had the same thing happen to me today. My wife suggested I left the lights on, but it's always on Auto. But sure enough, I was detailing the Ranger today and apparently, I moved the lights to ON. With all the alerts you can get, why on earth wouldn't they have something in the display to show you what the chime is for?!

Thanks for this. I was having the same issue of chime sounds like ChaChing and it was driving me nuts. Was the auto light thing.

Sorry I'm not following. I am aware of the door chime, but this is different. My 2020 XLT does a single faint ca-ching when I open the door, and sounds like it is coming from outside the truck. I leave my headlight switch in auto position, but the ca-ching happens no matter which position and I have never used the handbrake.
