Well, I bought LED headlights and didn't want to neglect the fogs, so I ordered these. I didn't use Diode Dynamic's BF sales though, 8-week backorder, so I found a shop in NC with them in stock and ordered from them.

Delivered today, too cold to install and would rather do headlights and fogs at the same time, but I can test and mod them now.

ohh ahhh, a box..

First test them with my bench 13.8V power supply.

Good, they are working. Now I don't want them lit with the parking lights, which is part of the wiring for them.

So, I removed the lead to the side marker light from their plug, I have boxes of these connectors, so I had plenty of blank fill pins to keep it water tight.

I may put a jumper between the light and this deutsch connector that branches the fog light power to both pins they used so all of the lights illuminate while the fog lights are active. I just didn't want to change how the lights on the front power up from OE more than the LED headlights already will. (double checked and the back light disables with fog active anyway) So no need to add that extra jumper.

What does the branch to the side marker look like?

Is it just spade connectors? I want to run a clean install from the side marker to tape lights behind the ranger "vent" (just because).

Did you get a pair of Lariat lights, Anzos or are you still waiting?

Yeah, the lead to the side marker is just a spade with a t-tap to pinch onto the side marker's positive lead. You can see the shielded spade in my picture above before I removed that whole lead from the jumper.

I have the Anzo's ordered. FedEx shows they've had the package for over a day, and they've not given a delivery date/time yet.

that is super simple - I will have to try and pull the truck into the garage (after I wash it in the next day or two) so it can be warm and I will want to work on it. lol

that's not bad - it took 4 days for UPS to drive a package from new jersey to colorado. As much as I prefer giving my dollars to small businesses I (or we as a collective society) really have gotten spoiled with amazon order and it is here in 24 hours. . . . lol

Im about to order these to pair with my arb ford performance bumper. hoping it will be bright enough for now.

Stage 3 sent me a plug and play connector for the side marker to plug in the grille lights , very nice ? ...
Can you see light come out from the side vents ? That would be sweet ?, someone on here took them out and wired them but if I can cheat and not take them out, that would be better...

not sure if it is required - or if it makes it easier.

I removed them when I polished the truck and they just pop in and out.

It is probably similiar to how you can remove and replace the fog lights without removing the bumper, but it is so much easier just to remove the bumper. LOL

Good choice on the fogs. I have the white set and love them! Quick heads up though: don't freak out if you can't see the backlight at first, it is very NOT visible in bright sunlight. Otherwise they look hella good!

Second: I've had it happen once on each side randomly after they've been installed about a year or so where the backlight either starts flickering or doesn't come on. If that happens, simply unplugging the tap to the side marker and plugging it back in fixed it for me. Inconvenient, yes, but don't freak out! They're not broken! Ford's electric system is just, how would I put it? Dramatic? Menopausal? More fragile than the emotions and ego of a teenage cheerleader?

As I stated, I removed the wire for that back light feature. I have no interest in that part of the light.

Also, very likely that the non-weather-proofed t-tap out in the open has introduced corrosion to the wiring and connectors of the tap.

If output is your main goal, then probably go wtih the SS3 kit. I have the amber Pro's, and their output is perfect. And they still have a really nice cutoff so if you aim them right you won't piss off all the little cars.

The SS3 Pro are nice, but the cutoff on the Elite is better. With the extra brightness of the Pro and the taller pattern you really need to aim them right to prevent glare, likely a little lower than you would aim the SS3 Sport or the Elite series.

Not wrong, and with a leveled truck I did noticed that I couldn't aim them low enough with the factory mounting hardware. I had to shim the bottom of the bracket that bolts to the bumper out a bit to aim them low enough. At which point i'd say they're aimed correctly, and don't dazzle anymore than all those stupid Subaru's... their factory setup is atrocious...

I was thinking that nearly none of the work to remove the fog lights and the headlights appear to overlap from what the venders have shown. Got me thinking, why wait to do them. So, I went and peaked behind that wheel well. Nope, that is not going to be as easy as they made it sound. If pulling that back gave me the needed access, I was thinking of doing them tonight. So, saved the work for another day when I'll have more daylight to work.

No, fog lights are easy by comparison. The headlights need you to take apart the whole front end, about like i just did to install my intercooler... you can burn at least half a day on it... but probably a full one once you include all the cussing out the engineers you'll be doing

Well, maybe on the lift the fogs are easy, but I can't lay under a vehicle without getting an attack of vertigo. I could not get any good angle at the screws with the truck on the ground. I'll try on the ramps, or I may have my daughter pull it into the shop she works at for that job.
