@WV_Ranger where in WV are you? I would spend weekends in Seneca rocks, WV when I was in my 20's. Growing up in Maryland it was a short hop, skip and jump over. Than I moved to Lynchburg Virginia - she was not worth it - and went a few more times before moving to Georgia, than Florida.... Next move is Colorado.

West Virginia is beautiful country.

I cannot speak for others but I find r5g to be one of the most friendly and positive places on the internet. the majority of the members are kind and caring. despite not meeting anyone of them in person yet- i think of them as friends. many have given me good advice not only for my trucks, but for life issues. always a funny meme or interesting story or pictures around here some place even if it is not always relevant or important to all taste. folks here have prayed for my family and i during hard times even while dealing with hard times themselves. a true blessing. the prayer and positive thoughts needed thread is still open for all - including wv ranger. so far i think im the only one to spill my guts on it lol. i hope others will use it and allow me and all of us a chance to put forward more good on r5g. glad to hear wv is going to stay and will add him in my thoughts and prayers tonight.

What a great forum!
OP, we all have our ups & downs, stick around, read, not to worry. I don't think I add much, bitched about the MPGs only to find out my wife drove WOT. Even some comment we think is useless helps someone.
Good group here.

Thanks everyone. It's good to know I'm not alone. I'm going to step away for awhile, get my head clear, then I'll be back. I can't leave such a supportive group of great folks.
The stress of work and aging has caught up with me and ground me down but it will get better.

Thank you again.
take the time you need for yourself. Everyday is a gift. We are all here if you need it. God bless and we WILL see you soon!

I’m glad you posted this thread - that’s a big step in getting what’s in your head out. This forum is full of brothers and sisters. We may not always see eye to eye, but as you’ve seen already, we come together when it counts.

Work stress is the worst, and just seems to compound when you feel you’re nearing your boiling/breaking point. The best thing to do is to say something. An outlet can take on many shapes and sizes. This site has so many sections and topics, with the common thread being a pretty cool truck. Do some virtual off-roading and you will find some pretty cool stuff. And, a great contribution is asking questions.

No matter your ultimate decision - just take a break, stay, go, lay low, become the SME - I hope you find the balance you deserve.

Cheers

I'm glad to hear you've decided not to delete your account. It would've been a loss for all of us! I know all about the stress of work as I had my share when I was back in MA. I was running a larger business then and was working 6-7 days a week for years on end. I was so burnt out I didn't even know what day it was most days and couldn't remember how to even have fun anymore. Long story short I sold the business, moved out here and started a new life. I know that's not easy for everyone to do but it really is what saved me from having a serious breakdown. We only have so much time on this earth and we never know when it'll end. So make the best of every day and always set aside some free time for yourself. Good luck brother and God bless!!!

@WV_Ranger here's my serious input. Yes I own a hearse and it used to be my daily driver. Why? I have been dead before. Literally dead. Alcohol/drugs mixed with stupidity and a good heaping pile of self destructive behavior, it never goes well. long story short, I died and luckily I survived- thanks again friends and paramedics. not many people survive death. it changed my way of thinking and I always wonder why I couldn't see it before. Everyday is a blessing. I'm thankful stars lined up in a perfect way that day.

Why drive a hearse? no matter how bad of a day you are having, sitting in the front seat is a good day.

I don't think I've ever asked to have my account deleted from any forum. I just quit participating.
Sheesh! If it still exists, I may still be a member of a Palm Pilot forum.

Might be easier route to get banned than getting an account deleted, I guess it's temperament dependent.

Now by any chance do you also go by the moniker "flatliner" ? In a gentlemen's club in SLC long ago (my boss was addicted to strip clubs) I sat at the bar next to a hulk of a man with an eye patch wearing motorcycle garb, he introduced himself as "flatliner" explaining that he had been brought back from the dead several times from motorcycle crashes and that his father was very high up in the Church of Latter Day Saints, I knew his life story in the next few hrs but one of the performers I spoke with said he was legit, this dude was only one of some stranger types in the place, until then I didn't even know strip clubs existed in SLC. A month later I was back in SLC for a tech convention and setting up our booth and who comes limping up to me - flatliner, we hugged, like we were long lost friends. small world and if you ever are in SLC with a few hrs to kill......give flatliner my regards.

Man, I'm way too late to this party but I'll back what a lot of others have said. We all deal with stuff, and we all tend to be too proud at times to talk about it, but yeah... Life is hard and sometimes the things that we deal with can feel insurmountable.

We also probably all suck at making friends. I mean, we're here on a message board, amirite? But people love other people. We're all broken and broken people are always ready to be there for other broken people. If you need anything, just reach out.

@WV_Ranger Hope you've been relaxing and taking it easy and the stress of work hasn't been to bad for you. I see you've been here lurking :bandit: so that's a good sign you're still around. Sometimes the holidays can be more stressful so as always there's a bunch of us here willing to lend an ear if needed. Hope you and your family have a great Christmas!!??
