dealer telling me he can't install a part for what Ford Accessory charged me for install

so how do I deal with this one? I paid for the vehicle security system ford preimeter plus, $207.61, plus 68.50 for install, and 17.95 tax, it was shipped to my dealer, now the dealer says "i can't install that for $68.50. Plus teh parts guy's slip only shows the part price, not the install fee I paid. My receipt is the email ford sent me to let me know my order went through.

Best option is to contact Ford Customer Care if the dealer continues to refuse to install it. Get them involved and either get them to contact the dealer to have it installed or put in for a full refund on the purchase since the dealership is refusing to work with you and Ford corporate.

I looked into this module when I first got my truck. It’s pretty much a plug and play item. Not much to installation ether. If a dealer is bitching about a 10 minute job then they need some diapers and some strained peas!

Here is why I paid them to install it. I assume they are connecting computer to set an option somewhere.

well, it's happened for vehicle assist programs before, and is happening with amazon's ereaders shortly. all of this tech has an expiration date.

Yep, it's always evolving, if they scotch that function I can fall back on the Ford Pass app, hopefully Ford will maintain that.... or not.

How do you like this unit? How does the security part of it work for perimeter defense? My truck already has the remote start, I thought about adding this to have the shock sensor and added security.

I pick truck up Saturday morning, but I have a feeling my neighbors are going to hate it since every couple weeks some local "perps" jump the fence in my gated community and walk around looking for car and garage doors that are open. My truck don't fit in the garage.
The scarest part is these (older) neighbors of mine have been known to have guns stolen from unlocked cars in the driveway.

on the other hand, there is a camera sitting right over my truck pointed at it (I used to travel a lot and the wife requested the cameras) so I don't ever see them trying my vehicle or garage door.

I had the same thing happen dealership didn't see that i purchased install from ford accessories. They were going to charge 3 hours for the install that should only take 20 minutes. most of the time was due to the techs never installing the module before. When they wanted me to pay for the install just showed them the the receipt for install from ford accessories. The SM was not happy

yes, the module is plug and play but it has to be enable in the computer.

I really like perimeter plus, can remote start from the key fob and shock sensor is nice add. Shock Sensor Sensitivity can be adjusted check link below


This is very close to the install guide in (KN1Z-19A361-A). Can't find a link to the 2019+ ranger guide.
