Hey guys. I’ve ordered some SS3 sport fogs that will ship on 1/10/22.
im having a hard time finding any actual sport level reviews. However I keep finding awesome pro reviews. Anyone here with the sports that can chime in? I’m having PRO FOMO and I’m considering changing my order last minute. Are they that much better? Or is sport still a huge upgrade? ?
Both are fairly pricey for what it is so I’d like to make this purchase once!

Huge...Pro's are overkill if you live in urban area...SAE is perfect for use in traffic...aim correctly and you'll be happy...

This makes me feel better lol
Don’t think I’ll be able to upgrade if I wanted (closed for the holidays)
Guess I’ll just save my money for pro level pillar lights!

Installed SS3 yellow sports. For highway use they are great and that's all I need them for. If your going to off road or some back country two track then you'd probably want something stronger but for me I'm totally happy.

Beauty, I mainly wanted them for highway use anyways. Lots of highways here with no lights.
I’ll maybe buy the pros as AUX lighting if I see another sale!

What you want to do is see which direction you want to go with fog lights. You can "add-on" or "replace."

Here's what I mean...........

"Add-on" means you are adding an extra set of fog lights to go with your existing OEM fog lights.

"replacing" is removing the OEM and putting in something better.

Now....let me ask you this. Do you want something that'll look just like the OEM? Or go with the SS3?

I'm asking because Diode Dynamics will have an ELITE series out soon.

This video will explain......it should take you to what I'm talking about. It's at 8 minutes and 4 seconds into it.

In my case, I knew I was keeping the OEM LED lights. These do make for a good driving light. I really like the advantages of yellow in snow and fog. I find them most useful in rain.
Even though I went with the Pros, they are still legal. I have them aimed well enough that they are effective for me and I do not blind oncoming traffic. Lights mounted low, cutoff aimed 4” centre line of mounted height at 25’.
I also don’t have them on often. Only in the conditions I purchased them for.

In my research, I boiled it down to this.
Sport are good if you want to add or replace with a step above OEM performance.
Pro are bright enough for on road and moderate (low speed) off road use.
Max are useful for lighting an airstrip, filming a remake of Close Encounters, and for thanking somebody for cutting me off in traffic. I am thinking Max will be my choice for mounting by the A-pillar. Some forward facing combo or spot pattern.

I have the max yellows and couldn't be happier. Don't think you can go wrong with any of their SAE options.

I too have the DD SS3 Pro Yellow Max lights and they are superb. I haven't even been flashed with them on yet. I use them a lot with all the rain and fog here in the NW. I replaced the stock LED fog lights with these. AWESOME.

Properly aimed, I run my Sport everywhere at night and no one complains...Pros? I don't necessarily need the extra power for a fog...I have "other" lights that team up for any occasion... ?
