Don't let a good damper go to waste, suggest redeploying it on the driver's seat (in Dave's Ranger of course) - in the fully extended position. :sunglasses:

A bunch of well armed but well mannered Ranger5g members will show up at your house and politely but firmly ask you to install the dampener back on.
It's going to take a whole bunch of us because we have lost most of our strength... o_O

Well … my wife and I went to the store and on the way back I hear a pop tink tink tink right before we get home. I get out and do a walk around see nothing. Open the hood nothing wrong there, climb under it nothing wrong there. I open the tailgate and almost broke my arm and then it slips from my fingers because it’s coated with 303 Graphene. I raise my leg and it bangs into my knee, OUCH, now I have a sore knee. Then I see this..

What the heck did I curse myself??
Luckily my wife was there to help me close it. I heard some beep beep noises and when I look over there’s a group of people wearing masks chanting “one of us, one of us”. To make matters weirder black helicopters started circling… I’m still trying figure out why a cement truck would be camouflaged and parked around the corner.

Wish me luck on finding the damper somewhere..

Word is the dampers are so valuable they’re not taking our catalytic’s and taking the dampers instead!

Well on side note I tried to replace it with one of my hood struts. It made things worse, now my hood half opens and closing my tailgate is impossible to close… I hope I find that damper soon..

Now that Dave’s on vacation is it safe to remove the tailgate damper? Or will the check tailgate light still come on? I have to do it my garage so no one calls CPS on me.

Any suggestions??
Just so we’re all on the same page, what’s your VIN?

After combing the neighborhood this is all I could find. It’s a little smaller than the Great Damper.

I hope I get this resolved soon so maybe all the weird crap going on will go away…

WOW, a neighbor just rang my doorbell and said “I heard you lost your damper.” He said “Is this it?”

?? Thanks Andy!!

Just remember to rip that Band-Aid off quickly and apply some 303 Graphene to it. It'll work as a healing agent and will be all shiny and new again. PM me your email and I'll send you a special gps tracker for it. We can''t have this kind of crisis again, especially when I'm away from the office. :captain:?

Wherever he is, he will be able to hear the clanging sound every time your undamped tailgate crashes down!
