Is there a way I can disable the tailgate damper without removing it? You know a switch or something.. only to be rarely used.

It would be nice to show off to the ladies that I can handle a tailgate without the need for a damper..

Hey you all know when that moment arrives, I just want to be ready!!

Once it's on it's on there for life. You want the ladies to be impressed by it so they'll stick around longer. Plus, who else will open it for you when your arms whither away like tiny little tooth picks?

Not helping Dave, once over the first impression I can certainly woo them in by showing off what a damper can really do. That way I don’t have to show off my fat wallet to keep them around, J/K when they find out I’m on this forum then they know it’s full of counterfeit bills. I just want to have a running start at it. Can you please put a bypass switch in it? It really will go a long way to keep them from running off screaming all sorts of obscenity’s. It can get very embarrassing!!

Nah, just impress the ladies by opening the tailgate with your pinky.

Instead of opening the tailgate, muscle whatever you're trying to haul over the top of the tailgate . . . that would impress the ladies even more!

Andy wanted to impress the ladies by disabling his tailgate damper. That's when it started.

The tailgate is hollow so why not add sand to it. Start with maybe 2 pounds and add a little more each day until you reach your final workout goal. I bet within 2 weeks you will be able to toss the damper, drain the sand and be back to a predamper mental state.
