Daves "want dampers list" would be a good place to market that book. Oh yea I just figured out Daves secret. That is the "suckers list". Worth money to the telemarketers.
I recently watched a Gunsmoke episode where the villain was a snake oil salesman. This thread reminds me that Gunsmoke is great and has survived the test of time.

You should've known better than to come into this thread.

Is it too late to go out and purchase a lottery ticket, I never win anything, but now I can't claim that, so when asked what did Santa bring the Ranger for Christmas I can now say, there is a Santa and he brought the Ranger a damper..........YEA! Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou
Just be careful when you install that damper and don't feel ashamed that you may need the assistance of a friend . We all here would hate to hear of the tailgate suddenly falling and injuring a fellow forum member . The stock tailgate can be deceptively quick on the way down .

Congrats again to all of the winners! And thank you to @AzScorpion for putting this together and @Figarou for pitching in.

All orders are processed and should be shipping out today/tomorrow.

There are so many damper posts that I can't read them all before I die of boredom.
I have 2 questions.
You put on a damper so that you can unlatch the tail gate, and let go of it, so that you don't have to lower it using your arms, and it drops safely by itself.
Is this right?
Now, to close that tail gate, you have to lift that same tailgate you could bother to lower safely by hand, and now you not only have to lift that heavy tail gate, but you have to lift against the strength of that damper too.
Is this right?
I don't see the upside to this except to lighten my wallet a little. Sorry if this has been answered a few hundred times.
