Damper falling off (the horror!)

Funny story, I was in the parking lot of HomeDespot and accidental ly dropped the tg open..kaboom. First thought was that snapped the cables straight! Second thought was how fast it opened and third thought was glad that Dave wasn't around to see cause I hate told you so's...hope

Just add something like a velcro tie and it will guide the cable back to the side. I had a velcro tie from a HDMI cable and then added some black tape to the bottom this way it can't bind between the damper and the body.

So, basically, train the cable by bending it out of the way when I close it?

Neighbor said he had a bent wrench that would fix it. I asked who makes it, but he couldn't remember, so we're searching his shop for it. I'll post a pic.

You should be more worried if it flushes correctly. The horror of a backed up toilet.

I opened my 68 chevy PU tailgate yesterday. Ahhh what a wonderful feeling. A real mans tailgate and I can still do it all by myself. No problems shutting it either. ?

Ford needs to issue an immediate recall. I've learned on other threads that un-damped tailgates WILL KILL

WAs one of the FIRST to receive and install the Damper on my 2019 Ranger. ave not had any such issue since initial installation. Either your top connection is faulty or something is obstruction the damper and forcing it off the top connection point.
