It's the logical progression of the disease. Once the biceps and deltoids are sufficiently atrophied from long term damper abuse, it becomes increasingly difficult to raise the hood without the assistance of high pressure nitrogen.
Yep, I can attest to this. I gave in to the damper crowd, then installed hood struts to my prop-rod '22.

Thank God it was only a few tiny bolts to install for the struts. Another week (weak?), well ... I hate to imagine. =p

You sir are my hero!
However the tailgate on the Aus model is steel, not alloy, and whilst immensely strong it is bloody heavy, and hard to undo single handed, particularly if wet and slippery. It probably should have left the factory with a damper standard. - I can't believe just said that.
Go open and close some tailgates on the old US Military Deuce 1/2 and 5 Ton trucks, that will make you Aussie steel Ranger tailgate feel light as a feather. ?

I've seen that, yes I believe you for sure, but at least most military people whatever the branch are - or should be, young, fit, and strong. Unlike the average age here which I would hate to estimate, for fear of being banned.

Actually I think that’s code now. Someone determined that small children were knocking themselves out with toilet seats and drowning in the bowl.

Been a proud member of TSD (Toilet Seat Damper) club since 2012. Got the TSD sticker on my back window! Just got to remember to close it still…
Used to have those soft-close seats. The Mrs wanted padded seats so I got those. Turns out I couldn't find padded-soft-close ones. It took a few trips to the bathroom to retrain myself not to drop the seat.
