Good day everyone! I ordered my Ranger on Jan 7th, It was delivered to the dealership on June 3rd. So while waiting I did a good bit of research on mods. I've owned and modified turbocharged cars for almost 20 years, so I have a decent understanding on what I want. What do you think of this list? Thanks and Gig'em!

I wouldn’t do the roush CAI. You can do better with the mishimoto or AFe one
The only reason I want a different intake is to hear more spool. I love that sound. I'll look at mishimoto and AFe, thanks!

Get a venting BOV then if that sound ticks your box. First time and you’re going to be grinning ear to ear

I know the electronics on this Ranger are pretty advanced. And some of my knowledge is a bit old. But does the truck adjust for an atmospheric venting BOV to keep you from running too rich when the transmission shifts? That's the main reason I've never installed that style BOV on any of my turbo cars.

Please provide an update on the exhaust sound after you get it installed. I am trying to find an exhaust that gives a little more breathing room for the truck with very little added sound into the cab.

BOV is just for back pressure release of intake after you spool up. Excessive pressure is vented to protect turbo. Doesn’t really do much else. If you do a search on here you should be able to find more info.

I have that exact exhaust. When first installed, it was a very mild toned one. After adding my spd performance downpipe and replacing the frontpipe with a 3", it woke it up, but even then it does not drone.

If I have the radio up loud, I dont even hear it much at all.

I personally love it. Before adding the downpipe and frontpipe it was too mild for me though.

Here is a video of the sound:

I'd recommend a tune as well. Just know that tuning a vehicle will void your powertrain warranty. They can tell its been tuned even if you return to stock.

5star offers an extended warranty that will cover their tune, as well as the mods you have listed.

I think what BlueScoobie was asking about ( or worried ) was the fact that BOV's don't work well with with a MAF when you put metered air overboard with a BOV, you do get rich running problems.

The good news is the 2.3 ecoboost has no MAF, BOV to atmosphere all ya want, it won't cause problems here.

That was my exact fear. I didn't know there wasn't an MAF on the Ranger. I have a ton more to learn about this engine. Thanks!

May want to check Real Truck for the flares. I picked the OE style that were $83 less than Stage 3. But to be fair, I didn’t ask if Stage 3 would price match.

Do you have any videos of It while driving? If not do you mind (safely) recording one? I am not worried about drone at idle, more so during steady city and hwy speeds. I work on a lot of vehicles during the day and getting in one to test drive it for repairs that has an aftermarket exhaust is super annoying and it would drive me crazy if it was my personal truck.

I just want the higher flow and the small performance boost that one will bring, without the awful noise.

I've had that exhaust for about 3 months and you can hear it in the cab but it's not very loud.
