Viair and jump starter are the way to go. For reference, it takes ~20 min to setup and inflate all 4 of my 255/75/17 Firestone XTs from 20 PSI to 35. Maybe 15 if I’m racing like a NASCAR crew, but I never do that. That’s a normal ‘air up’ episode from all I’ve seen and read. I’ve got a small tank compressor at home for driveway work, which is faster.

Which Viair?
88 model. I bought it for my old Subaru but the specs work for 32” tires. That said, you should compare other Viairs and see if it makes sense to go up a model. 88 is fine for 32 or 33” tires, from my recollection.

Do any of you have/use one of the Jump Starter/Air Compressor combo's like the Stanley or Schumacher type.
Or any recommendations as to a good one ?
Like one of these.....

Looking at your threads, you make it clear that you want a single unit for emergencies only.

This one is well rated:

And here's a video review that would make it fit my criteria of occasional emergency use:

I like that! I wish I had seen this before buying my Noco jump pack.
It's hard to go wrong with any that you'd buy - I know you do your research. =)

I currently carry a Gooloo battery jumper and a portable air compressor. BUT ... like most things I've bought for the Ranger, I doubt I'll ever have such a dire situation where I need a portable air compressor. Yes, I have my 160 plug tire kit (talk about some serious flats!) and if I had a full deflation scenario, I could air back up relatively quickly.

But I don't off-road or reduce tire pressure for traction.

The thing is bulky and I have a "real" air compressor at home. I frequently check my tires due to the climate here in New Hampshire and use the real compressor for that.

I might get a small one for my birthday this month and am considering taking out that portable one for the space. The small one would struggle to get a tire from fully flat but it can do it. Since most of my use is for 1 or 2 psi tweaks, the little unit should work fine. And, if I remember right, it can still inflate while plugged in to charge (most can't recharge and pump at the same time).

I also carry jumper cables, but can make do with the battery starter and should take those out too. But it it sure is hard to break habits that have worked for half a century.

And if it's really bad, we've been AAA members for nearly 30 years.

Sooo many options out there. I wouldn't use the little inflator except for emergency use, which I can't ever really remember having for a tire, a slow leak, yes. I have my little battery powered tank compressor for around the house. It's small enough I could take it on long trips if I wanted. A failed battery is much more likely.
I also have had AAA a very long time. Every once in a while I wonder if it's worth it. Then I use them again for their travel service and am very glad I have it.

Same thoughts here on AAA. Of course, we are whatever the most primo gold-plated titanium level is (LOL, I think towing goes from 25 to 40 miles?!?).

All I know is that I could have bought a tow-truck and hired a guy to follow us for all the yearly dues we've paid! =D

Corporate drone. Dilbert's world is alive & well.
I settled on one of these, a n Etenwolf Vortex S6 inflator and a Naco 1000 for her Subi.
The Etenwolf has exceptional reviews, self contained with a LI battery so no external battery needed.
Already have a Naco in the Ranger, and it was a no brainer...

For just an inflator, I LOVE my Milwaukie inflator. I have an all in one unit (inflator/jump pack) I bought at Costco a bunch of years ago, but it is for emergencies only - I've never actually used it. My Milwaukie inflator is WAY better than anything else I've used. Fast and quiet.

Love Milwaukee stuff. What model inflator do you have? I have a SunJoe inflator that is awesome, but the pressure switch failed and could not find an exact replacement. SunJoe discintinued them.

I haven't had much luck with Sun Joe products. I had two electric pressure washers where the pumps both went on them right after the warranty ended and looking at the reviews others have had similar issues.

I have the M18 version - it works really well and actually lasts quite a while on a 5 or 6 AH battery.

I was actually able to find a replacement pressure switch that was 5 or 10 psi beyond the original. It still works, but I have to manually shut it off when it reaches top pressure or it will keep running and setting of the relief valve. Annoying.
