Combining the Roush cold-air intake with the Ford Performance tuning kit on a 2020 Ranger XLT FX4

I'm considering getting the cold-air intake kit from Roush and installing that on my truck, then following up by purchasing the Ford Performance tuner kit. The one down side I see is that I'd be paying for the K&M air filter that I would no longer need, so I figured I'd ask here in the forums if anyone else has done this, or has any advice.

My questions are basically as follows:

1. Is there additional benefit to adding the Roush kit AND doing the performance tuning, or is it best to just do the tuning with the included K&M filter?

2. If getting the Roush kit is the right way to go, is there any way to get the tuner kit WITHOUT the K&M filter, and thus save that cost?

I searched the forum and also got a lot of information on Facebook page(2019+ ranger performance). I was told the ford programmer helped but not like a custom tune from another tuner. I just received today and installed my Revolution Automotive tune and it’s spicy! Contact them through messenger on facebook and they can take care of you. As for the cold air kit or a filter, I bought the AFE quantum CAI and am pleased with the fit/quality. It’s a closed filter kit. If you want an open CAI, a lot of guys run the Injen kit.

Just sell the K&N on eBay or FB Marketplace. They sell for around $70 on Rock Auto.
