Ranger Raptors are like Bronco pre-orders, people want them sight unseen with a care about form or function. They just want a Ranger Raptor or Bronco (pre-release). It's different (IMO) with run of the mill Rangers. I want to see and check it out IRL before I commit to one, and the I'm not interested until MY25. That, and RR will be "limited" in quantities.
Hopefully Ford starts to really worry about Ranger 6G sales and drops prices. $1000 discount on $35K-$45K isn't a deal maker, as that doesn't even cover destination fees, which are now close to $1600.

FYI, also saw on 6G that MY24 are not flat towable, but MY25 'should be'. That might be rumors though.

I don't disagree, but the 1,500 units thing is still worrisome. I just don't see that as anything that but a totally failure information campaign on Ford's part.

I bet the new gen Colorado and up coming Tacoma did not or will not see paltry numbers like that for non-maxed out trims levels.

Ford dropped the Ranger line from the US for nearly 10 years once, they will do it again if the numbers tell them to.

Totally agree. I have yet to see an ad for Ranger, either 5G or 6G, that wasn't on a site dedicated to Rangers. I've never seen one on TV.

I had seen some R5G specific TV commercials in Canada, but not very many.
Only 6G ones i have seen are by the Ford dealers on their social media sites.

Now I am stuck in an internal struggle on the color I want.

Stick with Shelter Green

Or go Cactus Gray.

Or go with what I have now, Oxford white. Its a classic white/black combo at the end of the day. You can even sprinkle in some red accents sparingly and it just looks right.

First world problems over here.

I like Shelter green as a color, but nothing goes with green. Vinyl work, wheels, anything. Green is just one of the colors that the only thing that goes with it is.... green. lol Maybe bronze on the wheels, but bronze vinyl work would look fugly.

I was going to suggest bronze as an accent too.
I think both black or subtle red accents in the right places will look nice with green as well.

The other problem I have with dark paint colors, the pop you get from body lines is washed out from any distance. And the other thing, which is OCD related, is the factory "c-clamp" white housing DRL's look so much better on lighter paint colors. Blends in better.

Now if Ford offered amber colored DRL lenses as an option, that would look fantastic on green.

But this oxford white raptor, the black housings, clear/white DRLs, it just flows and pops better on this color. All the black trim flows better.

Obviously photoshopped ambers below.

I'm thinking 3 or 4 victory laps round the front circle of the building of this dealership with the other dealerships name on a flag attached to my truck would be the ultimate ending trolling come delivery time.
Haha, I literally did this - the flag. Dealership wanted 17k over msrp for all new Tremors, got it for 2k under msrp at a better dealership and then did slow laps at the first place. Saw my sales guy standing in the lot and asked if he liked my truck. It felt fantastic.

Also, I will say I've had 2 very good buying experiences from dealerships, so I know they're not all bad (My thanks to MC Euro in Tacoma, WA and Valley Isle Motors Ford of Maui). Full disclosure, the second place honored X-Plan. I'm honest to God outta there at the first red flag though, life is too short for haggling bullshit.

I'm not a fan of white, but the white Raptor looks very nice. Just seems "right." As for green, a light coffee colored leather interior would look nice. I have a black interior on my 2019 Ranger, but black wouldn't make it on a green Raptor.

I'd like to carry on the concept of the SPEC R3 to the new truck (how lucky am I can keep the 3 R's theme). I'm starting to toy with the logo graphics design I have now but incorporate the factory Raptor font/design to see how it comes out.

No pics, I'm just bored at the moment.

Or since I plan to remove the Raptor bed logos from day one, replace them with a simple R3 logo. (just the one letter and number). I also want to carry over the 3 "stripe" wrap around vinyl design I created and have now.

Debating removing the Raptor emblem from the tail gate.

So for those not on 6G there are numerous confirmed correspondences between dealers and their customers that Ford is now advising to change stock Raptor orders to retail orders. No one is quite sure why, but we have some ideas.

My order manager was out of the office today, but I shot him an email and will hopefully respond by some time tomorrow;

Good Afternoon Dustin,

I stopped in this afternoon, but did not realize you were off work. The nice lady who is a sales manager was able to square me away on my first order of business and I changed my color selection from Shelter Green to Oxford White.

Now for the other order of business;

When you return to work and have a free moment can you check any dealer bulletins regarding Ford advising to now change stock Ranger Raptor orders to retail? There are numerous confirmed reports from other dealer customers around the country they are being notified by their dealer of this. No one is quite sure why this is happening, but it could be tied to the fact as of a few days ago there are only 2,000 retail orders entered for all non-Raptor trim levels in the entire country and maybe they are trying to fluff that number by moving the 3,000 allocation stock mandated Raptor orders to the retail numbers.

If accurate and it must be done can I request Priority Code 3? From my understanding Ford recently changed this from 10 through 19 without higher approval to 3 through 19.

Lastly I have just a general inquiry. I would just like to know if I convert my current 2019 XLT 2WD Sport Package Ranger (17,800 miles) back to stock form can you give me the rough estimate on trade in whatever the equivalent is on "lightly used, good condition" ? I understand without inspection its just a ball park, that is all I am after. I am currently weighing options on how I want to off-load my current truck and its $10,000+ worth of add-ons. I understand your dealership expressed interest in buying as-is, but I think realistically my two best options are trading in a stock truck to you guys and selling the add-ons individually and transferring some to the Raptor, or finding a private buyer who wants it as-is.

I got a VM back from my order manager (I was dead asleep, work 6A-6P shift). I also have my order email directly from Ford now where it was moved to retail. What I really wanted to know is if he could find out info as to WHY Ford is doing this but he came up empty handed.

Wish Ford would satisfy my itch of curiosity.

My vehicle reg renewal is coming up.

I just noticed in my state that RRAPTOR is available.

Do I have the perceived audacity to lock it down before someone takes it and drive with it on my current truck until the actual Raptor gets here?
