Changing fan speed

So, something I noticed. I have been starting my truck remotely. When the truck is started remotely the defroster comes on in some kind of auto mode. I never really pay attention to it and the indicator lights are dark. Then I insert and turn the key and usually switch the heat to direct out of the front panel. But maybe the remote start is having some lingering effect.

Rotated the temperature knob counter clockwise one click. Hasn't happened since.

You may need to set it so that remote starting reverts climate control back to last settings when you switched off. Have a look here:

It does that now. I may have set that in the past.

I seldom select Auto unless the truck is fully warmed up. Does a great job maintaining temps but I have had it jump in Auto without selecting.

Remote starting always turns on the rear defroster for some reason. No it wasn’t selected when stopped. That and the poor floor blower is my biggest complaints.

Mine does the same thing and I've never ever turned it on. Also the recirculate button is always off along with my seat warmers when I remote start and were on when I shut it off. I honestly hate this system and with it was just a simple slide bar like the old ones had.

Same here on the recirculating button which also never stays on longer than maybe 15mins but my seat heater does remains on for remote start.
My 97 Ranger had better heat and ventilation. Floor heat would cook your shins.
