My '20 has developed central locking issues. The doors lock at inappropriate times, like every time a door is opened, for example. The locks continously lock themselves as I drive down the road, for another. The alarm will often sound at inappropriate times too, like when my passenger opens their unlocked door.

Before I hand it over to the dealer I thought I'd check in here for any ideas.

Sounds like another electrical gremlin glitch. Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and see if this resets everything. It's helped several others with electrical gremlins.

I had a vehicle years ago with this problem, turned out to be the switch that indicates if the door is open or closed was loose in it mounting and I would get warnings and the doors would automatically lock as I drove down the road.

Hi Tim,

Two things if the battery disconnect does not work. Your battery may be near failure and needs to be replaced. Your fob battery may be spent. Battery for the fob is cheap, so if you follow NB's advice...simply put in a new one couldn't hurt, just in case...

By the way....if you do disconnect the engine battery, dispose of the used and old electrons safely...I found I could pour them into the tailgate damper with little or no effect...

Good luck,

Best,
Phil

You most likely have what Dave described, an electrical gremlin...they thrive on goofing around with you electronic system.
Similar to these , and you may have to get them professionally "exorcised"...

I'm in with the failing battery crew. Like Phil said, do the fob battery first.

In my old Volt, when the fob battery was failing it would make the horn and lights go off at completely random times, like 3 in the morning, and at first I'm thinking who's the idiot?? Turns out it was me lol

This reminds me of the Bernese mountain dog we had, she was tall & slim. Well one day I'm a block away from home but I see someone walking a big black dog, & I think, who's the fool that bought such a big dog! As I got close I realized it was my wife
walking our dog... duh!!!!
