Not the same thing, that is for engine running and FOB leaves the cab. Warning Honk

Check the turn signals flash when locking by touching the outside of the front door handle. If no flash, there might be a door ajar (also hood ajar) switch or a door locked switch not working.

I did some digging into the system operation, and taking all the information, you have provided into account.
All door locks work normally (lock & unlock) with FOB and Door Switches.
The only issue is with the handles themselves, with you stating that the Unlock Works with the handles and the only issue you have is the (Lock) portion of the handle does not (physically lock) the doors but you have an abnormal clicking sound of the locks.
Is the above, correct?

If (YES) one of the 2 handles when activated by touch is (stuck) in unlock mode and when you press the (lock) sensor it reacts by trying to lock the doors but the (stuck) unlock signal overrides the signal and the doors remain unlocked.
or they are locking and then immediately unlocking from that stuck signal.
The other functions via FOB & Switches work due to the fact that you are not activating the handles.
When you touch the handles, it activates the internal antennas inside them and depending on which sensor you are touching provides a data signal to the BCM, in your case it's receiving both Lock & Unlock signals at the same time and resorts to only operating in the unlock mode.
Note: In the wiring diagrams this signal is provided on the VBAT power feed, and it is combining both the (power and data signal) on that wire.

I don't think it's an antenna issue or power feed issue to either handle as that would create it not working at all (dead) - so I believe the issue is its one of the handles internal touch sensors, shorted.
To isolate you will need to try disconnecting either handle or see if you gain locking function back. Most Likely it's going to be the most used handle (Driver's Side)

First, I want to apologize for being negligent in updating my findings to everyone who has taken the time to assist me with this issue.

After several days of testing, the only conclusive symptom that remains the same is that when I press the driver and/or passenger side door lock indents, the lights flash on the outside of my folding mirrors to indicate that the lock signal was received.

I was asked to check and see if the mis-lock check mark was on in the dash panel, and all three check marks were flagged in the lock section.

So, sometimes it locks and sometimes it doesn’t. I’m starting to get good at the difference between the two sounds. One is, shall I say, more solid than the other. Since I really can’t trust the pressing of the indents, whether I press it lightly by a light touch of the fingertip, or depressing hard with my thumb, I’ve just been reaching in my left front pocket and finding the small round button by feel and pressing it which is always a solid lock.

Up here where I live, I’ve had too many bad experiences with dealership service. Even though I have an extended warranty, my experience has been that the vehicle is returned in worse condition than when it went in for a repair. So, this is something that I’m just going to live with for now.

My OEM Motorcraft 94R battery actually tests out with higher ratings than the loaner Odyssey 94R, so tomorrow or the next day I’ll probably swap them back out and return the loaner to my friend.

By any chance is there dirt or grime on the back side of the front door handles or anything touching the back of the door handle when you lock using the outer door handle touch point?

Ok, I still feel (one) of the 2 handles is causing the issue or a bad connection on one of the handles.
The only way to T-Shoot which one is by disconnecting either handle to see if the (lock) function becomes non-intermittent.
With the unlock function not being an issue, it's on that (lock-touch sensor) side of the circuit.

You may also try running a (Self-Test) Reset on the following modules that tie into this function.
RTM - BCM.

No, I might live in Alaska but with the exception of rain and snow this how I keep my vehicle.

Okay, I understand what you mean. Thank you, I will fire up my FORScan laptop and investigate this. As far as the BCM reset goes, I also saw on a YouTube video that apparently if the vehicle sits for more than eight hours it performs a BCM reset automatically...

No the BMS performs a calibration cycle during sleep mode, not the BCM, now issues with BMS can cause issues with the door locks but it generally renders them inoperative (completely)
The BCM (self test) is basically a reset (runs a system test) of all functions and reboots the module.

Okay, so battery management system and body control module. Would you happen to have explicit instructions on FORScan interaction with my 2021 Lariat 4x4 FX4 specific? All I know how to do is poke and stab with FORScan. I only make one change at a time, most of the changes I ended up reversing. I kept bambie and one other that has more radio display functions. Global windows I gave up on, I only play around with areas that are in written English, I never play with the section that is in hexadecimal…
