CarPlay, Google maps traffic alerts

When I use google maps on my phone all the traffic alerts(police, stalled vehicles, etc) work, but when I plug into my truck the alerts disappear. It was all working a couple weeks ago. Does anyone know how to fix that?

Just came back from a month long trip using both Apple Maps and Google maps in CarPlay. Both let me see alerts as well as enter them while I was using them for navigation.

I used Google Maps twice last week and saw the alerts both times. I'll use it again later this week so can update if those alerts aren't there.

Google maps seems a bit strange with traffic alerts. They usually work when I have an address plugged in for navigation. Waze still seems the best when it comes to live alerts and notifications.

Waze still seems the best when it comes to live alerts and notifications.

Waze seems to be superior lately. The last time I tried to use Maps it wouldn't even load, it just crashes.
