Hey all my ranger is 2021 so I've got the cast iron spindles. I'd like to go with a BDS lift kit but at the moment those are only for aluminum spindles, and so are Rough Country's lift kits. I'm guessing most lift kits are currently still designed for the older aluminum spindles.

Is there any work around, or would I just need to wait for the manufacturers to catch up? Is this spindle issue just for installing a new control arm? Can an iron spindle be swapped for an aluminum to work with these lift kits?

Sorry if these are dumb questions. I currently have a 2.5" level installed, and it's good for now, but eventually I'd like to go a little higher to fit bigger wheels.

You know you could just go woth Old Man EMU!!! It foesnt touch the control arms what so ever(except with alignment) so it wont matter wich spindal you get!! Front lift is 2.4 and rear is 1.6

And you can fit 33 inch tires on stock wheels(no spacers) with little to no issue!!!!!

interesting! I’ve got a set of bp’s coming —- arriving in August. I talked to ok4wd and they had to wrestle, cut, and use brackets to get 32.5s installed with bp’s. What did you have to do for 33s on stock, and what tire/size did you put on? Thanks!

They were probably using a brotruck wheel with 0 offset. The offset on the stock wheels allows for less rubbing.

I dont have the BP-51's at this time but plan to in the future. As for the tire it is 285/70-17 Firestone Destination XT.

Nice thanks! Did you have to trim the crash bars or just pound them forward? (Or neither)?

Neither. I removed the plastic covers, loosened the fronts and pushed them forward. The only rub I have is at full lock on the sway bar and it isnt enough to scare me

Big thanks bro - prob gonna go this route with the oem 17” rims. Would rather spend the 1000 or so for new wheels on something else. Like the stock fx4 17s fine.
