Must have gotten into a disagreement with the owner. That was one thing I appreciated about Dave as a new member is he made a point to engage with my initial posts and invited me to his made up clubs instantly to make me feel like I belonged here. (A lot of you did and I noticed.)

For those of you still in touch with him @DukeCanBuildit @Chris M please let him know even if he never comes back to this forum his efforts were not for nothing.

Sorry to OP for going off topic.
He hasn’t said as much but I think the blue truck club was really starting to get to him.

Does he still have a Ranger? Must really hate us....
Yes he still has the Tremor.
No, he doesn't hate us.
But he is quite busy, it seems.

Whenever it rains ?

I used to spend all day washing and cleaning and it rained or a bird ? on it a day later.
I just hit whatever wash house I’m driving by.
My time is worth the $20.00. It’s a truck not a Porsche.

Thanks for the replies, my normal routine is the coin-operated spray wash with my own clean wash mitt, then spray a little Meguires spray wax on the still wet vehicle and finally dry it off with a microfiber towel. I was gifted a prepaid card for 10 elite washes and am just trying to decide between the soft wash and touchless options for the rest of the winter and spring months. Looks like touch free wins.

And the benefit of rinsing off road salt can't be stressed enough. The longer those sit, the more the destruction. I read last week that more than 10 days is bad. I don't think that was terribly scientific and every 10 days would be hard here in New Hampshire.

But this Saturday is supposed to be in the 50s here, so I'll set up and do a rinse, soap Canon, and rinse. I won't bother doing a bucket wash and won't likely dry it much, maybe just the leaf blower.

I really should do a lick-and-a-promise for the interior, likely take out the front mats for a blast.

What I will certainly do, even if I did nothing else, is an under-carriage rinse on Soupie and my wife's CX5.

teasing myself with old pics promising of leaf-filled dump runs ...

It also matter if you have protection on the vehicle of any type.

The spray wax/sealent will go away faster than regular hand washing. So you might end up applying it more often, compared to hand wash.

Ie when I was washing the cars every other week in Florida I'd touch up the gtechniq c2v3 every few months... I'd expect the regular touch less wash to go through it quicker. Just watch the water action and see when it needs applying.

if its a black ranger just get a fork and do a quick swipe down one panel lol. that way you get the first scratch drama over with. ive had black cars before but this one seems to show even the slightest touch. if a leaf falls off a tree and hits my 5g i have to get the rubbing compound out lol. touchless, power spray foam cannon, hand wash, car wash in that order.

Not far off on the leaf bit. I have a dozen acorn dents on mine - that's the only thing that disappoints me in the Ranger - that thin sheet metal.

If you didn't park where the squirrels could throw their nuts, you won't have to worry about nut dents...

Now that I have my Raptor I don’t even remember when I last bathed her.
I can’t stop admiring photos of my black 5G beauty I sold, but I really don’t miss all this one to one time with her in the bathroom. Still, a wax is a must and few other ways I keep her in good shape.

A spring waxing and you're good.

Be sure to check back in.
