I try to keep my Ranger pretty clean, and since it has to sit outside all the time, I've been thinking of buying a cover. There are a couple of questions that have stopped me from buying one however.

Can I cover/uncover it by myself?. How hard is it to remove when it's wet?
What does one do with a wet cover after removing it? (No doubt rolling it up and throwing it in the bed is a bad idea)
Does anyone here have a fitted cover for a Ranger, and is there an antenna pocket or a hole with a grommet for the antenna to pass thru? (if I have to roll up the tonneau cover to install the antenna thru a grommet, then it's a no go for sure, but a pocket might be do-able).

I searched the forums and didn't really find anything, unless I just missed it somehow.

I feel that it would be more trouble than it is worth. Covers will scratch the paint with any dust that gets blown around and the wind moves the cover. Does that make sense ?

yes, it makes sense. I'm sure that's why all the covers are suggested to be installed only on clean vehicles. Keeping it clean isn't a problem though. Mostly I don't want to climb up in the back of the truck (since I would have to roll up the tonneau cover) every time to slip the cover over a small hole for the antenna. Anyway that's why I was asking if anyone has a cover with a pocket for the antenna because that could be slipped over the truck without climbing in back.

Yeah....my HOA will not allow overnight parking in the drive....must be in the garage with the door down...

I had a cover on My 2500 Dodge Ram 4x4. You do not have to climb on the truck to install. I would literally orient it to the truck front to rear then throw it over the cab, and the just pull it out and down. After a while it was full of fine dust (They are breathable.), I would take it to the laundromat and wash it in the heavy duty washers. I unscrewed my antenna and put it on the drivers seat.

You'll be amazed at the amount of grit and filth that blows up under the cover and onto the truck. It's more trouble than it's worth.

It sounds like it to me also. I was all set to order one but I think I will let it pass.

I did not get dirt blown up under mine. - I did use a piece of para cord through the grommets to keep it tight, and never put it on my truck When dirty. Yes we did get heavy winds where I lived.

If I did not have a garage to keep my Truck in - I would have another one in a heart beat. You do need a tonneau cover when using one though. Ask people around where you are what they think of theirs.
