Ordered a CAI and intercooler pipes, mishimoto black ones.
Almost embarrassed to ask, I got a wild idea of painting them red similar to my truck.
Can this be done? How hot do the get? Of course I'd check to see if it would kill the warranty first.

I agree not the intercooler, any more paint would act as insulation diminishing its cooling capacity somewhat. Black paint transfers heat (infrared) better than any other color. I’ve done a lot of infrared photography and can verify it..

The Mishimoto intercooler comes completely powder coated. The areas where the paint or coating are do not affect its cooling ability. The bars and fins are only coated on the very surface of them, the actual core is very thick and cools great. I have dealt with so many intercoolers over the years and paint/coating doesn’t do anything to them unless you’re literally soaking down the actual core.

In my case, it was the steering column hood was up ?
did the 2021's still have the dampers on that before the hoods were entirely decontented/deleted in 2023?

My 2021 has the hood struts, but being an XL, there is no hood.
